Rocky would have hunted down, pulverized and ko'ed Quick in the 9th round. Tillis's speed and mobility would have troubled Rocky at first, but he would have hurt him more and more as the fight went on and would have been diispatched in the 8th or 9th I'm sure.

PEAK Marciano is a lot BETTER small-slugger then teh 19 yr old PEAK Tyson who got out-boxed, confused And v.frustrated by journeyman James "teh fighting cowgirl" Tilly. :deal

  4. It is politically incorrect to say this, but a prime tillis would give the hell to rocky, styles make fights, rocky was very slow, tyson was faster, more accurate puncher, more explosive and possibly harder puncher than marciano, and tyson could not finish him, shavers or tyson could not ko tillis. probably tillis would run during all the fight to survive and the judges would see it very bad and they would give a ud for rocky. i do not think that rocky might catch tillis

Tillis wasn't strong or rugged enough to stave off Marciano. Rocky would have hit and hurt Quick everywhere he'd land on him and break him down eventually. Rocky didn't comprimise or get discouraged like Tyson did.

Before we judge too quickly let's really analyze this. Peak Tillis was 1981-1983. The 1986version that lasted the distance with Tyson was past his prime. The 86 version was slower and less mobile, but may have had better stamina. Peak Marciano was better than 19 fight Tyson, but Peak Tillis was also better than 86 Tillis. Remember that Marchiano weighed only 190 pounds. Tillis was 210. In the thirty years since Marciano's heyday, heavyweights had gotten much bigger, and, ironically, because of the influence of Ali, more mobile. Prime Tillis would have the mobility to move and box and stay out of harm's way in the early and mid rounds. However, his lack of stamina would be his downfall. Marciano would catch up to him and put some hurt on him. Assuming the fight is scheduled for 15 rounds, I see Marciano winning by late stoppage of an out of gas Tillis. Heavyweights evolved alot in those 30 years, and I believe top early 80's heavweights who could move and box, like Tubbs and Holmes could beat Marciano.

marciano stalks him and beheads him

  11. marciano weighed 185, not 190.

the tyson who faced tillis was faster, more accurate and harder puncher than marciano and tyson could not ko tillis, marciano would beat tillis by ud,not by ko.

Good points, but I was thinking of a 15 round fight. Tillis could last 10 with Rocky.

  13. mm ok 15 rounds is other history, the stamina and the pressure from rocky would be to much for tillis more of 12 rounds.

Tyson was 19 years old when he fought Tillis and had under 18 bouts.. Hardly the same guy who KTFO Spinks.

  15. the debate is not if this version was the best tyson or not , the point is even this version of tyson was faster, more accurate and harder puncher than marciano. so if tyson could not ko tillis, marciano might not in 10 rounds. rocky was too slow , he might not catch him in 10 rounds . just in a fight more of 12 rounds because rocky had more stamina.
