Had it been let to continue a few seconds more, a definitive shot would have come and Katsidis would have been laid out cold.......

To be honest, right when it was stopped, the selfish part of me was dissapointed. Katsidis knocked out the way Juan Diaz was would have made a statement, and likely easier for Marquez to demand and land a money fight.

......but I came to my senses almost immediately and applauded the ref for not letting Katsidis' go out like that.

Then I heard a couple of days later that Katsidis that very night went to Marquez' hotel room to congratulate him and present to Marquez the shoes he wore that very night against him.

Katsidis has proven to be a Warrior and a great person.
I'm happy the ref intervened when he did.

Having seen the fight a second time, I can say without reservation that the ref executed close to a perfect stoppage.

    Katsidis can fight another day!:bbb

Btw, that whole MAB team exudes a sour grapes routine when it comes to crediting anything JMM does.

......can you believe that cutman, JMM was coming in with GBP, and MAB was on his way to leaving, "thats why Marquez got the decision."

Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Somebody should remind that clown that GBP paved the way for the loser of that fight to get first crack at Pacquiao.
The whining MAB forced GBP's hand.
......and yeah, MAB made everything of that opportunity by fighting a survival fight against Pacquiao.

JMM got his opportunity next and put another schooling on Pacquiao and it just eats that MAB team alive that MAB could'nt do the same, that they have to hate on Marquez.:-(

was a good one imo. look at the shots he was taking, not just a wild flurry to try and get the tko but flush shot after flush shot. He had a good go and fought his heart out.

It was stopped a bit early, but one can't really complain too much.

    No.

The look on Kats face after the stoppage should be enough to tell someone the stoppage was legit.

Was a fun fight to watch.:bbb

If Kats hasn't/didn't complain why should anyone else?
(Unless I have missed anything recent?)

    This.

Kats looked almost relieved when the fight was stopped.

    Perfect stoppage IMO.

Katsidis was taking a prolonged beating. I lost count of the unanswered shots he was taking.
It would have been criminal to allow such punishment to continue. The referee did good.

Katsidis was also bleeding considerably afterwards.

Anyone else catch the line "You mean when I knocked him down?" in the post fight interview when asked about flooring JMM? Is it possible he doesn't remember how he was stopped?

    Ridiculous.

Yeah. Katsidis had him right where he wanted him.

    My goodness.

Katsidis had barely thrown anything that round, had taken to trying to get away from Marquez, who was landing just about everything he was throwing, hard.

    Come on.
It was the rope-a-dope in progress.
You let the other guy throw his punches , then you throe yours.
Kat was just starting to punch back.
Obviously the ref saw it and jumped in to save Marquez.
