I doubt the fight would go past six rounds, unless Slappy comes in wearing track shoes and the ring is 30 feet plus.

Knockdowns happen sometimes dummy. Dawson, Ward and Dirrell all got put down by journeymen and Hopkins got put down TWICE by Mercado. So lets not pretend Calzaghe was hurt, he was caught by a straight punch when standing square on, but lets remember he was straight up unhurt and pressed the rest of the round.

A disputed win where Taylor was lucky not to be KOd first time round.
Hopkins had a style weakness to fast 2 handed fighters, and although Hagler was a great of his time, I think he would have lost to Taylor and Hopkins also. This dosent diminish anything Hagler achieved and I hold him in higher esteem than Hopkins and Taylor, but think he would have been beaten

Hopkins was beaten by Calzaghe at LHW, a weight where Hopkins was stronger and sandwiched between Hopkins best wins of Tarver, Wright and Pavlik. Hopkins was Ring champ and P4P #3. If Hopkins is so past it, why do so many pick him to beat Pascal or want that fight to happen?

Calzaghe easily beats Hagler at SMW. It ould be an easy easy UD.

Those tough Philly middles are the ones that got Hagler into prominence,dummy.Bad Bennie Briscoe,for example,would have had Minter and Mugabi for ****ing dinner.And even though he wasn't a GREAT fighter,he had a puncher's chance against any middle in history.You have Taylor beating Hagler and your calling me dummyatsch?Next you'll be saying prime (****ing SERIOUSLY exposed)Pavlik-he that beat prime Taylor TWICE including once by brutal knockout-would beat Marv,too.Seriously,Hagler would have knocked Taylor and Pavlik right the **** out.Btw,have you ever seen Hagler fight,other than the Leonard bout?Even Hopkins,who was a terrific middle,but his resume pails in comparison to Hagler's.Also,Calzaghe had a very good chin,but was put down,what,a few times in his career by people that certainly weren't punchers on the level of Hagler.Hopkins' people are DELUSIONAL if they think he's going to beat Pascal.He looked like shite beating the corpse of Roy Jones.I can't imagine how he's still held this high in regard at this point when he's lost 3 fights in his what,last 10?And as far as Calzaghe being undefeated,good for him as he was a great fighter.I don't have a problem with it as I'm not a hater.But I was a fan until he proved himself to be a lying ****ing tosser.:good

A further note. You say Hagler was shot against Leonard, which was a close fight against a fighter that went on to win a SMW title. You only say Hagler was shot because he lost. If he had of won it would have been a different story.

WRONG.I followed Hagler's career and knew he was shot because I actually SAW the Mugabi and Roldan fights and saw with my own 2 eyes how far his reflexes and footspeed had diminished.He looked like he was moving in quicksand compared to his earlier career.Leonard knew he was shot,too.That's why avoided him all those years even though he discussed fighting Marv on several occasions.All you have to do is look at the Roldan and Mugabi fights and compare those with earlier Hagler and you'll see the difference in Marv.That's all you have to do if you're willing to be open minded.If not,then that's your problem.Mugabi was landing shots left and right that Marv would have easily slipped just a couple of years before.Honestly,judging from the contents of your posts,it seems the only Hagler fight you ever saw was the Leonard fight.And by the way,when Leonard won a 168 belt,he also won a lightheavy bout that night against the alphabet beltholder Donny LaLonde that Leonard had weightdrained to supermiddle in order to get 2 belts at once.And Lacy would have given Marv a hard fight?He would have gotten his ass kicked against Marv.He has NOTHING on his resume that indicates otherwise.NOTHING.
Hagler UD against Calzaghe as Hagler has a granite chin and Calzaghe's is pretty damn good,too,so no one gets knocked out.

I dont think Pavlik would have beaten Hagler, wrong style, and I was wrong to say Taylor, as Hagler would be able to counter that style, but I think any MW version of Hopkins including the one who lost to Taylor would beat Hagler.
KDs happen. Calzaghe was never close to being KOd, he always got straight up and attacked, never needing to hold. I also think a LHW Jones and Hopkins punch harder than the MW Hagler, but Calzaghe would have no trouble taking Haglers punches.
Hopkins has a great chin, but got put down TWICE by Mercado, that dosent mean he would get stopped by a bigger puncher.
Ward, Dawson, Dirrell etc all got put down by journeymen, so does that mean they are all brittle? Of course not.
How did Calzaghe prove himself to be a tosser to you?
