    Round 1...Varon immediately on the back foot as Macklin looks to stalk behind a jab. Varon clearly wants to hold the centre of the ring but Mack's jab is pushing him back to the ropes.Double jab, right hand is the preferred combination from Mack early on but it's all pitter patter stuff atm. Varon throws a couple of left hooks that don't land. Not much coming from the other hand, It's either the jab or the left hook for the Spaniard who's not over-exerting himself. Macklin wins the round due to activity and punches landed but Varon isn't a pushover. Just hope he becomes a bit more adventurous as the fight goes on. Macklin landed some decent bodyshots, needs to keep that up.

    Macklin fighitng on the outside, coming in with quick one-two's up top early on. Varon doesn't look too bad, he has a fairly tight defence, we should get a half decent fight here. Saying that Macklin looks like he hasn't stepped out of first gear yet.
