If I didn't know both fighters' records, I'd say a KO win for the Spaniard was the most likely outcome after seeing the 5 first rounds. That, or a DQ for low blowing.

Wouldn't be gutted if Macklin lost. Cold or not he's a waste of time fighting for a world title.

Varon will either win by KO or get DQ'ed, Macklin looks a mess.

    Varon is loving this pace.

Mack needs to find his second drive seriously. He looks beat.

    Macklin 5-1 Varon

Varon is looking the fresher fighter in there and starts brighter in the 6th. Macklin's punch output has dropped and he's now fighting to Varon's pace. Varon is having a lot of success to the body and with short uppercuts. Varon's round due to Macklin's low activity.

Round 6...not sure how much Macklin has left in the tank and Varon is still very fresh. Macklin now forced onto the backfoot as Varon confidently maches forward. Macklin's punches are now slower as well and Varon is finidng it easy to slip them up close. Varon does some nice work against the ropes! Body shots followed by a left hook (?) to the head but Macklin fights back. Ooh! Flush 1-2 from Varon. Rochd Macklin's head back but Mackling surges back, showing great heart. He's getting by solely on will and determination.

Another Varon round. 4-1-1. Joe Gallagher tells Macklin he's 5 rounds up.

Varon took that round too. Macklin's in trouble here.
