I'm confident Vic wins this one. Vic has now had plenty of time to grow into the batamweight body, and Mares is known to stand toe-to-toe at times so this will be very interesting. Prediction: Darchinyan KO round 11. Not an easy fight, Vic will be outboxed initially but eventually pressure Mares enough to lure him into a slugfest and KO in the later stages. I am still pissed off Darchinyan - Mares is on delay.........in Australia though! How the hell does Darchinyan come second with Sky PPV choosing Khan-Maidana, and Mainevent PPV choosing UFC live and Darchinyan on delay.
i think common sense points to darchinyan, but i like mares style and will be rooting for him. I think these tournaments are definately the way to go, super 6 winner fighting bute, the winner of this bantem tourney fighting winner of donaire vs montiel. regardless of titles and belts we will know more or less who the man is at each weight. looking at world rankings in boxing monthly and there are some **** hot tourneys you could make. there seems to be an unofficial one going on at the moment with the light welters. i think this will definately help boxing if it continues.
vic wins close ud, i really like vic and mares will probably be his hardest fight yet, interested in agbeko vs perez to see what adjustments joseph makes to win that one
vic is always fun to watch, he's very aggressive always looking for the ko, while mares likes to time hiis punches and take his time, but he can be lured into a fight, which is what vic will want to do and favor him. I think mares will be smart enough to know this and after some close calls he'll time vic coming in. will be a close fight and one where vic might underestimate the young mares who fights like a seasoned vet and isn't a one punch at a time fighter. this isn't mijares or arce he's fighting this time. mares SD darchinyan.

i was very impressed with mares when he fought perez. i had him winning. im picking mares in a great fight.
