great to hear bb:thumbsup i'm hoping that one day, one of the fellas on the classic will find a copy of pep/saddler 2, greb/walker and greb/tunney 1 at a garage sale and we'll all meet at a theatre to watch them...it's a silly dream but still
that makes a lot of sense. Seems damn near impossible to do what Willie did for 15 rounds straight. I heard that Archie Moore was helping to train Saddler and drilled into Sandy's head that he needs to stay on top of Pep every second and to throw his hands when Willie relaxes. Made it real tough to breath for Pep.
I'm glad you asked Burt that as I had wondered it myself. As it is the tape of Willy in their third bout showed me as a young boxer more instruction and inspiration on skilled boxing then any trainer or book I'd come across. How to outjab a longer armed opponent, how to land combinations on a taller-longer armed fighter, as well as every feint possible with the feet and shoulders, just an amazing boxer.
