Psychopaths dont have emotional response, they dont have feelings of guilt or conscience. Definitely an advantage in fighting.
I think people misjudge a psychopath, Its not some smart calculated hannibal lecter boxer, more a insane unstable joe pesci in goodfellas like character, hence james butler.
I've read different things separating a psychopath and sociopath. Same things I've read say there are some differences, but for the most part, they share that same traits, mainly having no remorse or guilt.
But how do those two things help you in the ring, I think most boxers don't let guilt or remorse clear their judgement in the ring.
Pacquaio felt remorse when he was killing Margarito in the ring so he eased up. Roy Jones Jr felt remorse when he was beating up Vinnie Paz. So we can clearly see neither of these guys are psychopaths or sociopaths. The sociopaths are those fighters who don't stop, who will fight until either they die or the other fighter dies. How many fighters do we know like that?
Im not sure, I consider pacquiao a class act, for example vitali or margarito would not stop but i don't consider them psycho's either, just cruel men.
I saw Boom Boom Mancini on a TV interview say they could hear Kim screaming and hitting the walls right before their fight. Ray knew it was gonna' be a tough one.
Come on, Oliver Mccall is not a psychopath, he was just mentally suffering a lot during that period and had a breakdown on fightnight, that is hardly psycho.
