Yeah, I suggested alternative fights where Floyd did use his ring IQ, but said I didn't think any of them matched fights like Toney-McCallum 1 or Whitaker-Chavez.

Floyd showing his ring iq and smarts beating those guys is quality stuff, but wouldnt you say it kind of says something when he has to make serious adjustments after losing 3 of the first 4 rounds against zab, struggles to keep a welterweight Hatton off of him/can't get in his rhythm for the first half or so, and looks uninspiring for large stretches against the older DLH he fought?

.... I prefer an outright schooling or domination of a high level opponent like Hop over Trinidad, Pea over JCC, or Kalambay over McCallum. And if a fight is very competitive and somebody wants to put it down for this thread, for it to be featuring 2 truly great guys in there (like the McCallum-JT fight you mentioned, or Duran-SRL 1). I'm with you 100% on not being a fan of mentioning Floyd-Zab, Ricky, DLH right off the bat.
