If they fought again i feel Khan would finish Maidana rounds 6-8. This fight and experience for Khan will have taught him (and Roach) way more than his whole career has combined. He will improve dramatically over the next year i feel you only learn if you make mistakes, simples. I thought he looked nervous in the dressing room, ring walk and most of the night, but he got over it, and the Prescott fiasco tonight, he will probably watch this fight 50 times over and learn soooo much. I couldn't give a **** if his punch resistance has improved by conditioning or "genuine chin improvement" at the weight either way he can be hit by a top 5 p4p puncher-wise several times and still have the constitution to dance away for 1:30 mins plus. Even if he wasn't throwing back when he was hurt all the time (10th rnd), after all half the point of the game is to not get hit, yet he could still do that even on ***** street, not bad for a china mouth..... And for the record, Maidana fought dirty and was a cheeky ****er at times, he did it cos' he knew he was being owned, if someone fought like he did in the ring with me, i'd loose by DQ, a ****ing stool followed by a knee to the throat would have ensued on them by the 8th-9th round, heart of a lion for Khan as well methinks.....:think
His chin has improved a bit but it's still not very good. He didn't really get hit clean all that much. Hard, but not that clean to the chin. He learned how to keep his hands glued to his face which worked out very well for him. Good fight but he struggled towards the end. So much for knocking Maidana out... Khan was almost gone in the 10th. I wasn't scoring it but it looked like a draw to me... Maidana definitely deserves a rematch but there is no way Khan will take that fight... Very exciting fight though. Props to both guys, they both gave it a hell of an effort.
khan will unify now, being a smarter even more improved boxer. maidana is under rated, his power, desire and never die attitude is not to be under rated. he will KO others who dare face him. Khan will stop others with lesser toughness of maidana.
agreed maidana is a tough dirty SOB...the fans are saying very few @140 would be able to survive what khan did in round 10...but how many would survive that body shot in round 1 ? and still comeback like a fuken beast late on...true warriors today although khan lessened his warriorship by running the championship rounds
its a fight always protect yourself if the other guy doesnt want to touch gloves nad you get punched its your fault
LMFAO AT KHAN NO LONGER HAS A GLASS CHIN LOL. Come on Jack. You obviously biased to uk fighters but damn man chill. Khan chin didn't improved. The only thing Khan proved is he knows how to run like a s1ssy when the going get tough. When Maidana caught Khan big in the 10th round, Khan was hurt very very bad and then Khan was running for dear life and then he was holding way way too much. Even before the 10th Khan was still running alot and was holding alot. Sure Khan fought i guess smart but he fought scared in which I knew he would do from the start. Like i said Khan didn't improved his chin. He only proved is survive by RUNNING!
fair point... still a dirty ****er.... people complaining about khans holding but did you see maidana punching on the ref blind side when on the break? definately dirty argie ****...true warriror spirit though.... and **** the malvinas ...argie ****s lost again
Khan took multiple flush right hands on the chin tonight against a far bigger puncher than Breidis Prescott and managed to stay in the game so its pretty hard to dispute his beard has improved a lot. I still think his chin has big question marks over it though, he showed decent punch resistance until the tenth round where he got hit clean on the jaw and never recovered fully from that point on. Still a great performance from Khan and what a wicked fight, probably my FOTY.
