I told you he was weight drained at 135, Khan fought the biggest puncher at 140 took his best shots and still didnt go down.

Khan showed he has heart of an asian tiger.

As opposed to the lily livered South American tiger? The proud but humble African tiger?, the lazy and ungrateful European Tiger?

Great display of fortitude from Khan. Pointless analogy from Darni.

Make your mind up about whether he's an Asian tiger or a Brit.

If you're calling him an Asian tiger, then don't get annoyed when your local BNP campaigner comes along and says "he's not British".

After just watching the 10th round again, Maidana was KNACKERED when he delivered that bomb to Khan...don't think it had the purchase it might have had earlier in the fight. If you watch Maidana he can barely get a shot through and he just seems to be throwing arm punches.

Good defence from Khan mind you, and he survived by using his brain (running and holding!) instead of leaving himself open.

Not taking anything away from Amir as it was a huge shot still but maybe not the shot it wouldve been earlier in the fight(obviously as boxers tire, and Amir had done a lot of damage to Maidana).

He stood up to Maidana's bombs because, despite popular opinion, he is not a glassed jawed joke

His chin isn't great, but he's improved immensely. A great display, but against a more calculated fighter I could see him coming unstuck.

Just not necessarily by a savage knockout, which is refreshing to say.

I've noticed a trend with some fighters. When moving up in weight, if a boxer was struggling (weight), they seem to develop more durability, even against bigger punchers. Also when fighters move down in weight, they don't carry more power when they move down. It's good to be a little tight at the weight, but not too much. Also, the speed has a big factor.

    :good

Best example i can find is Cotto, his legs were wobbly at 140, but he hasnt wobbled like that since going up. Another good shout is Pac, his durability has got better as he has got older and progressed throughout the divisions. Nice sturdy legs and good conditioning make up for a fragile chin.

You have the chin your born with. Drained weight only really effects the bodys ability to deal and recover from body punches. It is almost impossible to determine the raw force Khan was hit with in those earlier fights, and what stresses were placed upon the KO mechanism in the skull..which nobody really understands. So it's impossible to compare it against the punches of Maidana for instance. While at first glance you can look and see that X punch may be thrown with harder force, it's all about the position of the body and head and how the force of that punch was taken that can make all the difference, so it's very hard to ever determine it

You are just looking at the two differences and trying to see a pattern or reason, and the change you can see is one of weight. You can see it for yourself if you watch a fight whereby a fighter takes a shot, gets KO'd.. I bet I could then find you a video of that same fighter, at the same weight, in a later fight, or an earlier fight, takes a shot that appears to have far far more power behind it, and it doesn't seem to effect him. Had the guy changed in weight people would say "Oh it's his weight change", but as there wasn't one people just shrug it off

To be fair this is on a completely different level to Cotto.

The fighters Khan was getting hurt by were ridiculous. Willie Limond and a shot to **** Gomez. It's also the puncher he faced, p4p Maidana is a bigger puncher than the guys Cotto was fighting at 147.

It's pretty unreal, as to how...I'm not sure I want to find out.
