We now know he has the chin, but does he have the skill to beat bradley/alexander?

I think Khans macho mentality got him into trouble last night along with trying to prove a point etc, really cant see him slugging it out against either of these two, roach will now be fine tuning his boxing skills as he cant be taking punishment like that in every fight

 

Before the fight I said, this is a Khan wide UD unless he goes into moron mode and begins not listening to freddie, which he's done time and time again. Last night he turned what could of been an absolute demolishing stunning one sided victory into a fight that's just going to cause people to ask questions about him.

However, I now believe he has the fastest handspeed in the sport, and his power is much improved. What I do doubt is his patience and his technical ability at times. It was great to watch and will do wonders for his exposure, that said, future P4P greatness?... For that you only have to imagine any of the elite level fighters Mayweather,Manny,Mosley,Cotto and co, in the ring with Maidana, they would not of been in the situation Khan was in round 10

Alexander he would put down.. Bradley... I'm in two minds. If I was Roach I honestly don't know what I'd say to Khan about him doing what he did

Bradley still beats Khan. If Maidana can get on the inside, so can Timmy. And Tim's a much more controlled and thoughtful fighter. He wouldn't do the damage that Maidana did, but he can outwork Khan and defuse his speed and movement.

 

There isn't much to Alexander. I don't think you need anything special to beat him, I think Khan would have beat him last night.

He's got some work to do on dealing with fighters on the inside before he beats Bradley though. He seems to just hold and becomes progressively more negative under severe pressure.

 

I would back him to beat Alexander, and make it 50/50 against Bradley. I think the way to beat Khan is what Maidana implemented last night, and it nearly worked for him. Non-stop insane pressure for the full 12 rounds. Khan would be able to stay at range much more against both Bradley and Alexander, and importantly work behind that great jab he now has.

I honestly think Maidana was the most dangerous fighter in the division for Khan.

1,his chin is better

2 if a "slow plodder" like maidana can get through,imagine what a fast pressure fighter can do to him

3 khan is not a big puncher,just fast(body shot in 1st was superb though)

4 he really needs to forget about mayweather,he would eat him for brecky then **** him out at lunch.

but,a really gutsy performance from both last night,foty for me:thumbsup

 

The thing i noticed last night is that khan knocked down maidana with a body punch, yet never went to work on the body for the rest of the fight. He was punching maidana up all night and maidana was still there coming forward, i would like to see khan improve on the in-fighting aspect of the game and punch to the body more.

He beat the second best fighter in the division, and now i believe he can beat the best in bradley. Bradley needs to be backed off throughout the fight and khan needs to keep the fight at range where he can flurry and spin off and repeat for the whole fight. Bradley is a very good fighter but he will struggle with khans speed.

Future looks bright for khan atm, credit to him in all fairness...

 

Very few fighters go to the body with regularity. It pisses me off no end. Guys like Chavez Sr made up for being slower than some of their opponents by investing in bodywork. Even the hardest fighters can't take too much to the body.

 

I guess going to the body is seen as more risky for Khan than tucking the chin into the shoulder as he throws a jab, or throwing a right hand and stepping out of range.

 

Assuming Bradley makes short work of Alexander,which I believe he will. we could see the bout in May. Will be a good one

He doesn't beat Bradley. Alexander ain't ''Great'' so he's probably beat him in a snoozefest.

Bradley is just superior in neigh on every area IMO. Khan may have speed but Bradley wouldn't be a sitting target like Maidana nor would he allow Khan to run away from pressure. Maidana's footwork was ****ing woeful (not that i didn't know that already).

Khan done well he should enjoy the title and wins he's getting, Sadly he cannot stick to a plan under pressure. Amir is a primal fighter when it's all said and done.

 

Yeah i think he can after tonight!
