Only after GSP initiated a takedown first and they were struggling on the fence. I don't remember Koscheck shooting in on GSP in the centre of the Octagon. He couldn't have been too worried about GSP taking him down, as he clearly wasn't there to try to win and GSP lying on top of him for 5 rounds would have seemed a much better proposition to him than being peppered with punches for 25 minutes. He was just scared of getting knocked out. He would literally **** his pants with Manny Pacquiao in front of him.

Don't worry about Manny Pacquiao being taken down easy. Manny has the strongest legs in all of combat sports, and would easily be able to foil a takedown attempt by a weakling like Josh Koscheck, if he even attempts one. Pac may get off balance throwing some of his punches, but Koscheck will more likely be cowering up in an upright fetal position, as he's afraid to get hit, than attempting to pick him off and trying to take Pac down. He sure as hell won't shoot in on Manny unless he wants to go to be put to sleep. I have no dount Manny knocks him out in under a minute with his pressure.

    Fixed.

This fight would look like Velasquez-Lesnar, only Koscheck wouldn't dare be as aggressive as Brock and would basically just be beat into submission from the first second.

Dude, get a grip. Seriously. Under MMA rules Kos would murder Pac.

I didnt think they existed until I read this thread. We should all feel educated.
Im am now convinced that Pac with his 'strongest legs in combat sports' would totally school Kos in under 3 seconds even though he has no ground game at all. Add to this that Pac fought Margarito for the 160lb title at a catchweight of 154lbs, I have no doubt that he'd toss at 180+ Kos on fight day around like a ****in rag doll. I mean Kos just spent 25 minutes being torn apart by probably the p4p top MMA fighter in the world, taking a hell of a lot of punishment to prove that he didnt want to fight and has no heart
This is a true moment of clarity for all MMA fans

koschek is certainly one of the most hyped fighters the ufc has.

gsp has faced the best competition realisticly possible in his career, mostly before his title reign.

every time koschek loses their is an excuse, lets hope we have heard the last of them.

rogan and goldie used to always talk about how koschek is always improving with his striking, how his punching technique was ever improving over and over the talked at length about this. josh get compleatly destroyed by alves, then gets ko'ed by paulo thiago... now this.

anytime someone says that a fighter is "learning like a sponge" that just means they have a lot to learn and a long way to go.

josh koschek is not a top tier fighter, I doubt he ever will be.

That said I did think koschek would trouble gsp with his big right hand if georges decided to keep the fight standing... I guess I was wrong.

I have not seen the fight, can anyone tell me if gsp defended the right hand well, or did koscheck even throw it?

Kosh would kill pac in an octogon! Pac will kill Kosh in a boxing ring!

    2 different things!

If we had a Basketball forum on here you're the kind of poster who would go there and claim that Pac could beat all Jordan's records :patsch

Yea, Pac's opponents put up a fight alright... Have you even SEEN his fights. He demolished every opponent much worse than what we saw GSP do.

Yes he did, GSP explained how he knew josh was thowing circular punches while he was more of a straight puncher, so he stayed outside Kos' range and jabbed his right eye all night with a couple hooks/superman jabs. GSP was just too fast for Koscheck. I don't think Kos is overhyped too much maybe a bit, but every fighter that has fought GSP recently hasn't looked very impressive, perhaps that has something to do with St-Pierre being too dominant since all his contenders were doing very good before fighting him.

As for any pure boxer kicking Koscheck's ass I don't buy this for a second, any boxer could destroy a standup guy in mma, but yesterday, in my opinion, Kos' wrestling was a little better than GSP, which is quite a feat.

Formidable is right about one thing though, Koscheck was horrendous.

I was never interested in GSP vs Kos 2. Thats why I didn't bother watching TUF at all and watch the BS build up to a fight that was an obvious mismatch.

When the **** are we going to get GSP vs Silva at 185?
