He actually does have some good power on him, nothing Maidana like of course but definitely hurtful when he sits down on them, its just a shame style-wise he cant afford to stand and sit down on his punches.

I think he'll get there, with experience better timing and more effective movement is coming, think how well Sergio Martinez does now when he sits down on them compared to his 20s. Still, even if he could, Khan was never to sit down on punches for power vs. an unpredictable KO artist, and that was the right thing to do. The 1st round was a glimpse of the future, but at this time vs. this opponent he remained mobile most of the night. And won.

Can't afford to sit down on them when he's facing possibly the best puncher in the division, no.

    Against other people? More likely.

    Yep.

Not conjuring with this thread at all...unless the OP is confusing "sitting down on your punches" with "swinging for the rigging". I thought Khan's punching was especially impressive in the 11th where he was sitting down on his punches whilst going backwards. That is pretty special. Not a lot of guys have that gift of balance and speed. I won't mention the names because people will get upset.

He looked world class on offence in that round.

Khan chooses his spots, and if he continues to improve, there's an off-chance we'll see something special. He's not fluttering about unable to give purchase, that's nonsense.
