Darren Sutherland

Can anyone tell me how many times Darren Sunderland fought DeGale as an amateur. And who won the most. Did Darren ever fight George groves? Cheers

 

think it was 4-2 to sutherland but degale won the 1 that ,mattered

Degale was much younger than him. Sutherland was 5-6 years older than Degale I think and was beating him when Degale wasn't fully matured. Once Degale matured, he made it look easy against Sutherland in the Olympics. Sutherlands last fight against Rasalev wasn't impressive at all.

 

Without sounding like a biased ****er I thought Sutherland didnt really give a **** about the Olympic fight with Degale. He was happy with his bronze and anything after that was a bonus.

 

He had to be happy with it because he wasn't going to win the gold. In the interview afterwards he appeared happy with the bronze but he tried to win and was outclassed. He was a one dimensional pressure fighter really. A good one, but easily outboxed at the top level.

maybe , but Sutherland fought Degale when Degale was 20,21, 22 etc(and won)...So your point is basicaly crap.

Fair play to Degale he won the olympic gold, which he deserved, but amateur boxing was never really Darren's style...

 

Groves is a few years younger than DeGale. And Groves still beat DeGale in the ams. And he'll do it again in the pros.

 

Groves has shown nothing so far to suggest he would. I think DeGale would beat him easily.

 

I think the boy Groves showed against Anderson that he is now a man and I don't think anyone beats him easy!!!

 

yep, i agree with this, Degale has come on so much since he debut, i don't think it'll be long before he win a world title
