Credit to Kahn, but...

I think his chin is still questionable, as he should have been stopped last night, credit to him for staying on his feet and literally running the last 3-4 rounds to protect himself but I still believe he is vulnerable to being KO'd at any time.

Secondly, I don't typically like to criticize officials but I felt Cortez did Maidana a disservice by penalizing him a point (what turned out to be a big point) for the "elbow" that hit no one. This was premmature and ended up costing the fighter. On the other hand he literally warned Kahn for holding/pushing Maidana head down at least 12-15 times without a deduction.

Either way a win is a win and I give Kahn credit for sliding by in a tough fight, early on I thought Kahn looked tremendous, but as the night went on, he looked more and more average. It actually reminded me of Dirrell vs Froch, the difference being I thought Maidana hit him with more/better punches than Froch did Andre.

 

but.....................I have a different opinion than you, I didn't ask you to come comment on the post. If you think it's ****, then don't reply, I thought the man hung on for dear life, got through it by the grace of God, but was still badly hurt and could have been stopped. I give the man credit for his win, but I believe his chin is still questionable, I believe Cortez was wrong in his decision, and I think the second half of the fight Kahn left himself open to be questioned. I didn't make him stop going to the body, I didn't make him stop holding his ground and letting his hands go, I didn't make him stop jabbing to keep Maidana at bay, no reason to be mad at me. He COULD have dominated this fight, but he didn't, he deserves credit for his win but he still has some things that make an objective person question.

 

Yeah dude, that's the point, I didn't say Cortez should have stopped it, but he was there to be stopped would you not agree with that? I don't think "it should have been stopped", I said HE could have been stopped, there is a pretty significant difference. For the record I don't think Cortez should have stopped the fight, I think Maidana should have, we agree on this point.

 

See this is your stupidity shining through. First and foremost the only person who has referenced PBF is you, I don't reference PBF in all my posts, but you seem to.

Secondly, I don't hate Khan, at all...even in the slightest.

Thirdly, "an opposing force to Floyd Mayweather"...dude, Khan doesn't fight in the same division, isn't truely on PBF's radar, by his admission isn't ready for PBF anyway.

I'm a fan of many fighters, Devon Alexander, Tim Bradley, PBF, Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, Cotto, Mosely, Jermain Taylor, James Kirkland, Angulo, Andre Ward, (Closet Froch fan), Berto, Gamboa. I'm not a "one trick pony" as you are, I like a lot of fighters, these are a few off the top of my head. I would consider Alexander/Bradley, Martinez, Williams, Berto, and/or Cotto to be as much an "opposing force" to PBF as Khan. So you argument is an obvious fail, I heard someone just made a "Will you suck dick for two Kit Kat's" thread over in the lounge, you should go check it out, as it's much more suited for your frame of reference.

I'll put it this way, after JT was knocked out by Pavlik, they obviously rematched during said match I was on pins and needles hoping he wasn't hit and hoping he could stand up to Pavliks pressure etc. Well he made it all the way through standing, he was actually hurt pretty bad in the 10th or 11th with a body shot that basically cost him the fight (took everything out of him and he hasn't been the same since). Anyway, he then took some time off came back and beat Lacy (again entire fight on pins and needles). The argument could be made that Pavlik (that Pavlik) and Lacy were two of the bigger punchers in that range of weights, so all questions of JT's chin answered because he went through those two fights without being KO'd? Then came Froch/AA back to back and the rest is history, look I'm not saying Khan is JT, I'm simply saying that seeing him hurt that way, that badly, that ready to be stopped, after being KO'd in 1st and being down 4-5 other times in his career didn't do much to assure me his chin is "solid" and/or not a question. I gave the man credit, I give the man credit, but in my opinion his chin will be a concern for the rest of his career. No different than my favorite fighter (Jermain Taylor) his chin will be a question the rest of his career, period.
