Maidana the new Arturo Gatti?

    Watching him fight khan and getting hit with those 5-7 punch combos one after another and then out of nowhere land that monsterous haymaker and turn the tides like that saw shades of Gatti imo. This guy has unbelievable heart, hes just what boxing needs nowadays. I find it pathetic that there was only 5,000 people in attendance!

    **** no, he hits harder then Gatti but doesn't have a better chin then Gatti. Also Maidana is an ass hole, something Gatti never was. :thumbsup

    It was a Gatti esque performance but I don't think he has Gatti's natural (albiet neglected) boxing skills. When Gatti landed himself in trouble by brawling he could box for a half a round until he got his legs back under him which served him well in several fights throughout his career. If Maidana was able to do that I think he could have pulled out the win last night and he would have won the Kotelnik fight for that matter.

    One thing that would prevent him from being a Gatti to America (and most the world) is because he can't speak english. Plus Gatti was Gatti, there will never be another like him.

    They both resembled Gatti last night in one way or another, Khan was on the absolute edge of being destroyed in that 10th round, taking a BEATING, something thats never been done before to the kid, and he kept taking every shot, smiling about it, not taking a knee and just pushing, i dont know why but that reminded me of gatti in round 9 vs ward in their first fight a little bit. Both of them are ****ing warriors, throwback warriors!

    Having heart while getting soundly outboxed and throwing desperation shots with a no surrender attitude. Yea, he reminded me alot of Gatti, but Gatti was never a dirty fighter that I remember of.
