I heard Ariza bought a big supply of xylocaine from Floyd days before the fight. That's what he probably used on Khan's chin.

 - There's always a point where the nut-huggers give themselves away ...

Khan was impressive, though. Great performance against a high-class opponent.

That's not coming from me, that's coming directly from his sparring partners and his trainer.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Chin is NOT something that can't be improved. Developing the muscles of jaw and neck, dishing a punch more properly (instinctive moving along with the direction of punch) can help. What's more important, mentality plays a big role in it. Khan was DETERMINED not to go down and he didn't.

Honestly, I was convinced before the fight that even if Maidana catches him alright, he will handle it. I knew he was determined.

It most likely is a combination of a few things, ie - being possibly weight-drained before, better trainer now, more belief, better sparring, strength etc

It was just a great night of drama and entertainment, plenty of flaws but brilliant nevertheless.

Khan is definitely not as china-chinned at 140, that is now a fact.

    Re-Match Re-Match Re-Match !!!! :happy

Khan's leg strength I think has played a big role. I'm a firm believer in stronger legs leading to a better chin. Add that to not having to make 135 and another 2 years of physical and mental maturation alongside being used to being hit by a hard puncher in Pacquiao and it has led to him being able to take a better shot. I still don't think he has a great chin. But it's certainly not bad. Most light welterweights would have gone down or being knocked out by some of the shots Maidana was landing. What Khan really showed in abundance was heart, durability and great recovery powers. I think it was a really good performance. Also, it is clear that Bradley and Alexander do not hit as hard as Maidana which does bode well for Khan.

Stopped caring after "Middleweight type power"...

Maidana has some nice pop, but let's not overstretch that.

Khan was on ***** street from a single shot. Maidana took numerous numerous clean shots right on the chin from Khan and was never wobbled outside the 1st round from body shots.

You want to compare those chins?

  9. According to Teddy Atlas, Team Khan sent out an email to Team Maidana asking what the consequences would be if Khan tested positive for having an adamantium plate surgically grafted to his jaw.

    :think

Team Khan is gonna be exposed!

    :deal

There is no question in my mind Ariza is a huge part of why Khan won this fight...he is a "miracle worker", no doubt about it. Imagine if all fitness and nutritional experts were as smart as he was, combined with being able to operate in an environment with so little regulation, there's no limit to what could be accomplished.

  12. Again with the stupid accusations. I hope you find yourself unjustly accused of something one day and then have everyone around you deem you automatically guilty. Slimey ****.

It wasn't me who brang up him having Middleweight power in the first place. It was his sparring partners and his trainer.

Some nice pop? Really. He has excellent pop.

So ****ing what? You probably didn't even expect Khan to take a glancing blow.
