He was not reckless per se but his skills are not as good as some think or he thinks. Maidana was able to draw him into a war and get to him and hurt. It is to his credit thathe survived to the end particularly round 10 but last night shortened his career. He will probably lose a rematch to Maidana and definitely be beaten by the more skmilful Bradley, Alexander and or Ajose. Any talk of him fighting Mayweather is stupid and insane as it would be like a murder sentence.

He'd beat Alexander for sure IMO. Would make Devon look more ragged than we've ever seen him, and diffuse whatever gameplan he could map out, which was there for Urango but clearly not there against Kotelnik. Alexander is outmanouverable without a doubt.

But Bradley seems close to complete. Whilst not a big puncher (clearly Amir isn't neither, though beautiful body shot early) he can set traps and lure people onto his right, which, when he brings his head down and throws, is full of snap and spite.Mich more calculated, and with durability and powers of recovery that will stop Amir from slowing him down, I see Bradleys athleticism and all-round ability causing Amir problems, seeing him slip the jab more than most and getting on the inside frequently as the fight goes on, banging him to the body and slowing Amir down, stopping him in the championship rounds.

What a performance by Khan; we really do know what he's a about now, and he's a flawed fighter. However, he is Elite level, can get his bearings when buzzed, and, most importantly, we now know his defence isn't impenetrable.

He will do well and could well beat Bradley with a consistent jab and movement, as Hilt was before he abandoned his (he also had a dig to dissuade Bradley in the early doing which Amir doesn't have) but Bradley seems fairly adaptable and has more than Amir in a few departments. He seems the better pick to me.

Well done to Amir Khan, now no.2 in a packed division.

So true it hurts.

Khan has a lovely, rapid rangey jab but it's neither impossible to get past, nor leading to anything that hard it will dissuade.

Someone like Bradley, who has taken a bomb from a big hitter like Holt and not ben troubled for the rest of the fight, would have little issues with Khans punches IMO. He could move freely, setting traps, and cutting off the ring intelligently.

The way Khan falls in when throwing combos is a product of the amateur game I cannot see him ironing out. At times it made me wince, he's going to get himself in trouble.

Khan is very, very good. Bit an infallible future P4P star destined for greatness? I can't see it based on what he has displayed skillset-wise.

And before people say 'he has time he's only young' his style/punch resistance does not lead to a long career IMO. Floyd would time him left right and centre and take him out in a few rounds, or toy with him and stop him late. Khan is nowhere near that level IMO.

Bradley is closer. He has less noticable flaws anyway. Why Khan is 'never going to be outboxed by a guy that short' I don't know, he is jot infallible and Bradley has taken tools away from taller opponent before. Amir can either flurry fast and pump that jab or run away and hang on for dear life. 0 inside game+Poor chin=Low shelf life at the top. There are more ways Bradley cab approach the fight with Khan.

Amir has sorted out his conditioning. He has learned essential survival techniques. But he still gets buzzed pretty much every time he gets hit. He did really well to stay up agaist Maidana but standing up to a big puncher DOES NOT MEAN lesser punchers can't take you out and vice versa. The proof is in the history of the sport but my favourite one is this.

Oscar Larios lost to Israel Vasquez via KO in the 1st round. He was floored heavily in their third fight and opted out in the 3rd rnd after a cut....but went on to do the distance with featherweight Pac.

George Foreman fought numerous massive punchers, even as an old man, but was stopped in his prime by Ali.

Just because Khan stayed up against Maidana, and fair play, does not mean the likes of Bradley, Ortiz (Khan beats him IMO) Judah (Khan spanks him IMO, he's begging to he retired) and Alexander can't/won't get him out of there.

 

As for point 2 if it is laughable please give Frank Warren my number and will take the fight tomorrow. Once Chebah is sorted out happy for us to take good care of Khan.

 

He as a good chance against both of them. What as turned it around for khan like they said on sky difference in his training and especially is sparring. Come on fighting against pacman is only going to improve his chin.

 

Khan is basically an Oscar De La Hoya type but not as good as Oscar.

 

When i see TFFP, dftaylor and Flea pretty much talking along same lines i know what's what. All we need is Slip to add his points and i've got final confirmation of who wins out of Bradley vs Khan. These guys have broken down the fight even better then you'd get from so called pundits.

 

I don't know if I am being harsh on Khan, and I commend the grit and determination he showed to get through that fight, certainly has that something in him that Ortiz doesn't and is probably more talented too. However does the fact the fight was so close and Khan allowed it to be so close when Maidana is so one dimensional not concern people?

I know Maidana is probably the worst fighter for Khan but still...I honestly expected him to box maidana to a comfortable points victory.

 

I will confirm that I'm now an Amir Khan fan and supporter. But still a objective one.

Anyway, Khan has bigger fish to fry than a patently ordinary fighter with no fanbase and no financial clout. He's liable to face either Ortiz, Alexander or Bradley next. Why would anyone prefer to see him fight Ajose over those guys?
