i believe manny steward would be the best coach for khan

While Freddie Roach is probably the best in the business i truly believe khan would turn into an absolute animal with steward!

steward preaches balance, its all about balance, khan goes out of balance when hes moving or after throwing flurries, Steward is also a better defensive coach and has had experience teaching 'slicker' boxing styles.

also de la hoya, chavez sr and other fighters have described steward as one of the best offensive trainers in the game, although i believe roach is better at teaching offense i think with what khan picked up from roach and teaming with steward to learn some defensive/slick moves and balance he will be near unbeatable.

 

What struck me was Khan's defence when Maidana got inside or into range. He's not improved or added anything to it. Not even a few slick moves of the feet and upper body.

I'm not saying i expected a should roll but i thought Khan would of come on a bit more. Not just stand with head down gloves trying to cover whole head to avoid shots. I think Roach is starting to realize he's maybe doing his best work now with Khan but he will never be a complete fighter like he may of hoped he'd be. (Technically/Tactically).

roach is good no doubt but khans gets hit with the same kind of punches as pacquiao, i think a floyd mayweather style would suit him more than a pacquiao.

 

Well he does have one of the greatest jabs in boxing history so maybe Steward is the man for him.......

I see your point to a certain extent..

Although Khan proved he has a lot of heart and a solid chin, it is a bit of a concern how easily he was getting tagged at times....

 

I agree his jab would become a real problem for opponnents and he would fully use the height advantage, and would protect the chin more. However without Roach he would also not have Ariza, who i believe is the reason for the new found strength in his chin and he is clearly growing into a real solid WW where he wouldnt have much of a height advantage to use in the first place

 

What you believe is irrelevant. The results talk, bull**** walks. Khan is now in the top echelon of fighters in the World and has potential legendary status on his radar. That's been achieved under Roach.

 

ariza's good, not the greatest, his methods are nothing new the only reason why everyone keeps mentioning him is because he is the most famous out of the conditioning coaches, there are others out there who do just the same but dont have the camera time ariza does.

He's not saying ditch Roach, just saying maybe get some sessions in with a defensive coach like Steward..

I am discussing my opinion. And it's my opinion you're talking out of your ****. Are you on your period deary?

Boxing styles don't just combine so easily, there's much more to it than just taking a dash of Roach and a pinch of Steward to create an all round boxing genius. It's as much about the personalities and the ingrained flaws, and Khan is never going to be a slick, balanced fighter regardless of who he works with.
