Maidana wins this. Size and power differences. JMM's effective counter punching will not be enough to compensate for Maidana's power, chin, and reasonable speed.

don't know. i know JMM still has the skills to hang with Maidana, but Marcos is much stronger than JMM, and will sooner or later catch JMM with a big punch. Still, JMM does recover well when knocked down.

Maidana wins it. If JMM does win, he would prove to me that he does deserve a money fight with pacmonster.

recovering from Katsidis, Barerra or even a 135 version of pac is not the same as getting hit by a Maidana punch. I doubt he recover.

People are very romantic with aged skilled fighters.

If jmm always wins against 140 pounders like many posters are saying here, why is he fighting at 135 and against a b class fighter like katsidis? He is not even the top dog in that division like Humberto soto probably?

Beristein is not stupid like most of those in the esb.

I agree but I doubt if Marquez will fight Maidana. It's just too risky for him. If he lose, he'll forfeit lucrative fight w/ Pac. Low reward, risky fight.

People are always making threads like this about JMM and Valero taking on 140 lb guys.. the fact is we have NO idea. Sometimes moving up in weight changes everything about a fighter (Humberto Soto), sometimes it seems to make no difference at all (Manny Pacquiao). You CAN'T know until you see it.
