Macklin report and post fight video interview

we havent seen Pirog against many world class opponents yet though, so its hard to judge hoe good he is. Id like to see Pirog against Macklin soon so we can see how Pirog handles another decent contender.

 

Macklin isn't world class. I really like the guy but he's been struggling against guys that are barely EBU level. Pirog would beat him handily.

 

I never said he was world class, but hes still a decent contender and he could very well be he toughest challenge of Pirogs career. Having said that i do think Pirog would beat him but id like to see more or Pirog against good fighters before we all make up our minds on how good he is

 

I know he hasn't beaten any world beaters yet but he looks great. Wouldn't surprise me if he had a long reign as champion. I'm fairly confident he is the goods.

If pirog fought macklin it would prove nothing about pirog as mack the knife is yet to prove anything ?

And what did Pirog prove before he bet Jacobs? Name one fighter who Pirog fought that made a better opponent than Macklin would besides possibly Danny Jacobs? Macklin would be one of the best opponents of Pirogs career if they did fight. And id say that Macklins a slightly more accomplished pro, has more experience and is made of sterner stuff than Jacobs even if he hasnt got his talent. Pirog-Macklin is a good fight imo

 

Everyone knew pirog was going to do well before he fought jacobs.The mans a beast. Macklins been around as a pro for nearly 10 years, had a high profile when turning pro and still has'nt reached anywhere near world class.Jacobs beats macklin.

 

Most people thought Pirog would lose to Jacobs if i remember correctly. As ive said before regardless of how good you think Macklin is he is a decent contender and deserves a title shot soon. Macklin is still the best opponent outside of Danny Jacobs that Pirogs fought and thats a fact. People were talking about Pirog fighting everybody from Pavlik to Martinez right after his win over jacobs. Theres no need for him to be rushed along so quickly after only 17 fights. A few fights with contenders like Macklin are no harm. Its a legit matchup at this point, especially with Pirog not having any bigs wins beside Jacob who was still pretty much a prospect and whos best opponent was Ishe Simth.

 

If pirog was to give mack a crack people would see it as an easy outing before going for the big boys, so yes i agree with you to some extent, it could be made. Theres only one winner though. Pavlik i feel is done at middle, confidence must be shot.I think he's a lucky man though if he gets his shot(macklin)

 

what else do you think he needs to do to earn his shot? The barker fight might have been a good one before a title shot but that fell through and it dosent look like they are ever going to fight. Macklin deserves a shot as much as any other contender at the moment, probably more than some actually.

Theres to much bias coming from ireland with macklin. Chill out lads. Listening to you, you'd think macklins been waiting around and beating everyone whilst probably being avoided by all the champs.
