3x3 minute rounds along with 2 knockdowns in a round is a TKO and the 3 fights in one night tournament style all make for more aggressive fights with the finish being so important. Also, traditional Muay Thai fighters don't like head movement. With all these rules there's going to be more power punches thrown.

I remember when I was young and didnt knew anything about styles or fighters and saw Bonjasky vs Sapp, I thought sapp was going to murder him, punch him right through the ropes. Then Bonjaksy schooled him

K1 guys have power, they focus on building muscles and looking mean, the kind that would **** you inside jail. For the first round, they'd punch with amazing crushing power, then they begin to tire, the punches aren't even thrown correctly and so with fatigue they lose power.

of course, heavyweight boxing has grown **** and we have old fat blobs who knew how to punch and conserve energy but lacks athleticism

Arreola is a fat lazy journeyman at best, its 50/50 in my eyes.

The fact Mark Hunt has been a very successful K1 fighter with nothing more than a limited boxing kit IMO sums up the skills of a lot of these guys.
If he can win against so many with what realistically is average boxing skills, how would these guys when just boxing go against real boxers?

Power is probably not too bad at all, especially as many of them seem to sacrifice technique and defence to deliver telling blows. Sure it looks entertaining but wouldn't work too well against a well skilled boxer.

Aerts was always susceptible to being knocked out by punches and was many times in his career. Today he wouldn't last a round. Even in his prime he would get knocked out by Arreola.

Mark Hunt a very successful K-1 fighter? For a short time he was perfectly proportioned for his style, had a good chin, was very aggressive and had hard punches. For a short time.Ernesto Hoost IS a very successful K-1 fighter and the difference shows.

You seem to not understand that as soon as you add strikes to the legs that the whole punch equation changes. Take away the leg strikes and the technique will change.

And to check your hypothetical about how former kickboxers would do at boxing I will name one right now - Vitali Klitschko!

I have judged Zambidis three times - his fight with Dzhabar in Melbourne is brutal. Both guys beat the hell out of each other.
