Yeah i agree for now. I think that the winner of the january fight goes to number 1 automatically due to the fight being between 2 of the top three, and it being so close between all 3 guys. As for the rest of the list, i would still have Maidana at 4. Isn't Malignaggi now confirmed as a 147 fighter? If not, then the rest of the list is about the same as what i would have it.
Khan just shades it at the moment but all of that could change if, as expected, Bradley beats Alexander.
Yea, i think with his win over Maidana, he's gone to the top, but purely because Bradley-Alexander hasnt taken place. Before the Maidana fight, it was Bradley convingly. To me its like the Arsenal-Manchester united game yesterday, Arsenal were top, but only cos they'd played a game more.
Bradley. He will beat Alexander handily IMO. Despite Khan having two very, VERY good wins, Bradley has showh more versatility. He is the better fighter at this point.
At 140 Khan has Kotelnik, Salita, Malignaggi and Maidana. Apart from Salita the other 3 were top 10 at the weight. Bradley has Witter, Cherry, Holt, Campbell and Peterson. The Campbell fight was a NC. Witter and Holt were top 10, not sure about Peterson. Campbell was moving up from 135. I'd have Bradley at 1 and Khan at 2. Can't argue with having Khan in the top spot for the time being though but the winner of Bradley-Alexander would be no.1 IMO.
For me it would still be Bradley. He's got more defenses, unified titles until he got stripped. The quality of opposition between the two isn't that much (Witter/Peterson/Campbell/Holt vs Paulie/Kotelnik/Maidana) but I think people are rating the Maidana fight higher now, even though most people didn't rate him at all before hand.
Don't forget, it's not just 'names' that makes a top fighter, it's the performances they put in. Bradley is clearly the more well-rounded fighter.
Purley based on his wins and the dominance of them. Maidana, Mallignaggi and Kotelnik is a better resume than Witter, Holt, Campbell and Peterson in my opinion. Of course if he takes Alexander out he would go ahead.
that was becasue the No.2 fighter is Vitali so Wlad couldn't fight him. It won't be for the ring title.
I base it on performances. Khan beat Malignaggi and Kotelnik in shut outs. All of the Bradley fights were close and competative.
Exactly. Khan won but it was just about the least convincing way he could have done so. Khan was supposed to win easily. He was a 4-1 favourite. All the Sky pundits were saying Khan would win a wide points decision or score a late stoppage. In fact he was odds-on for the stoppage with the bookies. He ended up getting the **** beaten out of him and having to do ridiculous amounts of holding just to hear the final bell. Yes he proved his chin is slightly better than we thought but it wasn't a very convincing victory.
