prime hatton v khan?????

Hatton wins, Khan's inside game at the moment is very weak, also Ricky used to take flush shots just to get on the inside and unleash one body shot, he would stalk Amir down and cut off the ring much better than Maidana did.

 

hatton by tko he cuts the ring off much better than maidana and at times khan was just leaning against the ropes with a high guard and looked very open to body shots which hatton would have jumped all over

 

Khan by clear UD or KO. Hatton got embarrassed every time he stepped up to world class (Kostya was ****ed)....The only thing Ricky has over Khan is a mindless fanbase.

 

hatton is a different ball game to anything khan has faced but slowly khan is becoming the man to beat a prime hatton. hatton is much more agile and active than maidana. his rib ticklers would kill. the old lightweight khan wouldn't win but the fighter he is becoming could do.

 

I'd favour Hatton strongly at the moment. Maidana got far too close too often and landed far too often to think Hatton wouldn't be able to cut the ring off. Hatton was very swift to cut the ring off.

 

Khan would have to box to a more focused gameplan than saturday but I would fancy Khan by close decision... Khan would have to work behind the combinations and keep Hatton at distance .. if he fought like he did against maidana then Hatton would be hitting the ribs far too often ... but overall khan is a much better boxer !

 

Hatton. Now horribly underrated due to Pacman and to a lesser extent PBF. He would have lost to those two at any stage of his career but he was not peak when he fought Pacman at least. The Lazcano fight showed that in hindsight and to be honest I was not overly impressed with the Malignaggi fight, and felt the Hatton of the Tsyzu fight would have got Paulie out of there much earlier.

Hatton cuts the ring off fast, was much quicker in both feet and hands than Maidana and would have torn into Khans body. He would have to eat some shots on the way in, but Khan does not hit as hard as PBF let alone Pacman or Tsyzu. Khan simply would not land enough in the short time it took Hatton to close the range and attack.

And Khan would be gassed by the mid-late rounds, as peak Hatton fought at a tremendous pace.

That said Khan is not near being at his prime and if continues to improve over the next couple of years as he has done in the past 2 then it is a totally different story.

 

How do you know Khan doesn't hit as hard as Floyd Mayweather?

 

Even if he hits as hard as Mayweather, Mayweather actually broke Hatton down before scoring that KO. It's not like it came out of nowhere. He broke him down on the inside, something Khan is wholly incapable of doing.

 

It wasn't Floyd's punching power that stopped Hatton.

No but in seriousness all I agree with Strike, Ricky is massively underrated and under appreciated because of his loss to Pacman. He was a monster at 140lbs, his wins over Tzsuyu/Tackie/Maussa were incredible. He did ever so well do beat a massive 147lber in Collazo too, sure he was holding on for dear life at the end, but still he did his thing, this should have shown him that he had no business being at that weight, but sadly he was enticed into a match against Mayweather at the weight again.

On his return to LWW, after the Collazo fight, he had already lost some of the old magic and hunger, and Hugged his way to an ugly win over a very limited if hard hitting Urango, and struggled against a shot to **** Castillo, before catching him with a once in a career highlight reel KO, which glossed over the fact he was pretty **** in the fight.

The Tzsuyu/Tackie/Maussa would have given Khan fits in the later rounds, although i do think Khan would cause Ricky problems with his speed early on.

 

The isn't even a hard pick here. Hatton got close to Mayweather and Pacquiao without a problem. Mayweather beat him up on the inside, not the outside. Mayweather didn't box and move. Okay Pacquiao sparked him, but thats not going to happen if we're talking about a prime Hatton against Amir Khan.

He wouldn't have a problem getting near Khan based on the evidence of Hatton's own fights at the top level and Khan's fight with Maidana. This is absolute common sense. Khan would not know what to do when Hatton cuts him down.

 

Well obviously I don't know, but then technically I don't know that Pac hits harder than Khan. But I go off what I have seen. Khan has hardly ever hurt a fighter with a single shot, the body punch to Maidana and the first shot landing flush on Earl and Salita being stand outs.

Mayweather has dropped plenty of fighters with single shots and has badly hurt a higher level of opponent at higher weights with single punches. He is a very underrated puncher IMO because he does not often sit on his shots or go for KOs. But he stunned DLH with a single punch, hurt Mosley and JMM several times, almost KOd Hatton with one shot, had Corrales down multiple times with single counters.

He dropped Corley more than once who has gone 12 with Bradley, Witter and Maidana (when shot).

Basically Khan usually stops people with flurries where the ref steps in. And basically the comparison of opponents is telling. Khan simply hasn't shown great power even early on against total journeymen. But it does look to be improving and I'm sure it will continue to progress.

 

Well I would say Prime Hatton beats Amir Khan at this stage in his career, Amir still makes mistakes, doesn't follow game plans and fights too much with his heart and not his brain. Maidana should have been easier work for Khan.
