GBP has way too much invested into Alvarez and he is still green. he is a year and a half off before a risk fight. he looked slow and vulnerable his last fight...against a 40-year-old who has no power.

Clottey is not a top fighter. He gets top bouts but doesn't throw punches when it matters. He's a typical Ghanian Worldbeater with some skill and no tenacity. He's boring as hell to watch for no reason. Clottey is a Top Rank Tomato can and perrenial Championship fall guy.

I think Berto ****s dude up, if he would open up against Pac, i don't see him opening up against Berto. Berto is really fast and has some legitimate pop, he's rough around the edges no doubt, but I don't see why/how Clottey would be willing to eat shots from Berto, but was afraid to eat shots from Manny. I think Berto wins pretty wide UD.

He ate shots from Cotto and came right back. Not to mention Berto holds for 75% of a round and doesn't throw 100+ punches per round like Manny does. Clottey's defense is too tight and is too sharp of a puncher for Berto to have any advantage against him. This isn't even including the obvious advantage in skill and experience Clottey has.

It was Pac's volume that kept Clottey at bay. He got very few opening becasue of that and had to stay on the defense to protect himnself. Berto has no such output. Clottey vs. Berto would look closer to Clottey vs. Cotto or Zab.

Not really Berto vs Collazo was exciting and Clottey vs Cotto was a great fight

Bottom line, Berto beats Clottey rather easily. I disagree with the "inactivity" of Berto, Clottey isn't going to throw enough to force Berto to hold. Clottey is going to turtle up when he feels Berto's power. No way Clottey is active enough to win this fight. I dont claim Berto to be an ATG or anything, but he beats Clottey fairly easily.

Clottey vs Berto could be an okay fight for Berto if he can't get anyone else. Clottey won't have the same ****ed up plan he did going against Pac because he knows Berto doesn't throw as much. However if I Berto were to take notes from the Pac fight, and his stamina held up, he'd have a far easier night than Cotto or Baldomir. Doubt he has the stamina to attack nonstop the whole fight though. Berto just has to keep busy.

Dude, Clottey's only done that once. Why do you assume he'll turtle up against Berto? He's done it ONCE.

We both know Berto doesn't throw as many as Pac, or have his movement to get in and out of punches comeing back. Berto is much more stationary then Pac, and will be there to be tagged back.

Beating him "rather easily" is total bull**** when you look at just who Berto has beaten in his career.

No one beats Clottey easily. Pacquiao and Margarito had to throw the kitchen sink at him. Berto can't do that. Clottey can counter and lead better than Berto. He's beaten a faster fighter in Zab Judah. Berto hasn't proven himself to be mentally strong enough to beat a calm, iron-chinned guy like Clottey. He's a hot head with leaky defense and a ridiculously low output. He hasn't proven himself to be a good combination puncher. Clottey is a physically strong veteran with good counterpunching skills and great defense, not to mention the dude is dirty as hell and Berto would get roughed up extensively in clinches.

Cintron did it, Mosley did it.......Berto is not touching Clottey with even a ten-foot pole. Very high in risk, very low financial reward.

good fight but Berto won't take it cause he has nothing to gain from it.
