I see in Khan shades of Sugar Ray Leonard

Agreed, he basically would not have made the same mistakes as Amir Khan did with Maidana, but it serves as a good reminder to the fact that had Khan not taken a beating and run around Maidana the entire 12 rounds like Leonard did with Hagler, he would still have been criticized, if not more so.

Obviously, SRL had far too much experience to take clean shots from Hagler consecutively, but at the very least, Khan could learn a thing or two from SRL after his fight with Maidana.

Here, allow me to make it painstakingly clear:

Both started their careers as Olympic heroes.
Both have led a well managed career.
Both lost surprisingly to a South American (Prescott, Duran)
Both have incredible hand speed.
Both were unpredictable and overly aggressive in their early years.
Both are tall, utilized distance and the jab well.
Both are criticized of "running around the ring".

Also, people have compared Maidana to Mayorga, so I just re-watched De La Hoya vs Mayorga, and DLH's style doesn't even come close to Amir's m8. :blood
