He was the first elite boxer to try out MMA when he went to Manchester to wrestle Ricky Hatton.

You don't need a great resume to get in. The HOF is pretty lenient so I don't know why people still complain about this stuff....

One could see him as great if he soundly dominated his division, defeating every good fighter who fighter he faced over a long period of time. Unfortunately the time he missed through injury and the unavenged defeat to Phillips make me feel he was a very good but not great fighter.

He still deserves to go into the Hall of Fame if there are people like McGuigan in there.

Tszyu deserves it, but I don't think he should've been a first ballot guy...not over Cocoa Kid and Yoko Gushiken...or Zapata, etc.

Poor McGuigan lol, he'll always be the poster boy for fighters not needing to be "great" to get in the Hall.

He's not the worst fighter in there, but there's other guys that should have got in before he did. His resume certainly isn't great, but it's very solid.

Personally, I probably would have put in Buddy McGirt before Kostya - not that Buddy is a better fighter, but he's as good and has been retired longer.

Of course, there's guys that deserve to be in there before Buddy too, just saying....

I love him. He had 13 title defenses and beat everyone he faced of course he should've got in over Tszyu imo. He was a southpaw who knew how to flow his punches together.

Tszyu definitely should have been in over Yoko, his resume is ass.

Zapata was more talented but blew hot and cold and didn't maximise his potential at the end of the day. Cocoa Kid definitely should have been in there already.

I like Barry and he certainly deserves to get into the Hall of "Fame". However the guy is lacking in a certain amount of achievement.

He beat Roger Mayweather around a ring for 12 rounds.

That's reason enough for me
