Because 20 year old "boxing experts" in the Classic Forum have a hard on for obscure Asian fighters. They think they "discovered" them. This phenomenon is also present in music, movies etc.

Chang got elected last year and Myung-Woo Yuh will get in eventually without a shadow of a doubt. They fought in the same division at the same time and had a **** load of defenses of their titles. They were both Korean. They never fought each other. So you will have two boxers from the 2nd worst and most shallow division in boxing who fought at the same time in the HOF. Carbajal and Gonzalez both got in but at least they fought each other in competitive fights.

Gushiken should never get in the HOF. It's laughable to suggest otherwise.

Zapata will get in eventually but he was beat so many times in or around his prime.

As for Buddy McGirt...Are two very short reigns at JWW and WW enough? Is a win over a slightly faded Simon Brown enough to get you in the HOF?

Did anyone raise objections when Ricardo Lopez got in 1st ballot? The same Ricardo Lopez who ruled the worst and most shallow division in all of boxing while Tszyu ruled the deepest division in boxing.

**** off , I really am sick of this , when bernard Hopkins does it , its called clever fighting , when its Hatton its wrestling , you dont land over 30% of your powe punches if you are holding all night .

    Cotto.
And he could beat all of them except Duran and probably Oscar.
Mosley? How the hell would we know. He barely beat Phillip Holiday at LW so Tszyu beating him is not out of the question especially since Tszyu was in his prime when Mosley skipped the division so as not to endanger his quest for a big payday against Oscar.
    Against Chavez it's 50/50.
Against Pryor 50/50 at worst. Pryor never beat 1 decent JWW who was in his prime or close to it. PED test should be a requirement for this fight.
Fights against Whitaker and Mayweather would be perfect stylistic match-ups for him. He probably loses competitive decisions to both.
He would certainly beat Arguello, Taylor and Cotto.

    I said deepest. Not best.

Ricardo Lopez fought in a "weight class" with 250-300 boxers worldwide.
Tszyu fought in a weight class with close to 2000 boxers worldwide.

Who gives a **** how deep the division was, all that counts is the quality of the guys he fought. I don't think he really faced a better calibre of fighters than Buddy McGirt did when you consider who was past their best and what not. Maybe only slightly better if at all. By the way, a slightly faded Simon Brown is a better fighter than anyone Tszyu beat (Don't bother mentioning the ghost of Julio Cesar past).

I'll give you Pryor and Whitaker as guarantees. None of the others, I don't think, are certain to beat him. Many would be favored, but I'm of the opinion that two guys need to have faced each other before we can make so many assertions as fact. I think you're seriously underestimating Tszyu.
Conversely, I think the guy that said he was the 140 GOAT is seriously overrating him.

he is in the hof cause he won ...ALOT. his loss to phillips wasnt so bad and he had a streak of alot of wins. his battering or jcc was epic. also his beating of judah was a pretty great win at the time. he came back from being down to beat hurtado. overall i think he should be there.

    Simon Brown
    Howard Davis Jr.
    Frankie Warren
    Saoul Mamby
    Livingstone Bramble
    Patrizio Oliva
    Gary Jacobs
    Joe Manley
    Genaro Leon
    Rafael Williams
    Vincent Releford
    Ricky Young
    Tommy Ayers

Kostya beat a lot of guys with flashier looking records, but I don't think they were really much better than this bunch of fighters. If so, just a tad.

When you throw in Buddy's first close fight against Whitaker, which was much better than any losing effort's of Kostya's, I'd say they are about on par.
