Vitali fights decent on the inside and he also has a very good uppercut. You need to put your historic boxing collection away & check the current fighters out a bit more before you comment on them.

I wish people could image 2 things if there was some magical time machine that would bring these two together:

    1) The disparity of a modern age 6'7 245 highly skilled Olympic Gold Medalist standing in front of a 5'11 205 highly skilled Olympic Gold Medalist

    2) Wlad in 8 oz gloves (what Frazier fought in) as opposed to 12oz gloves (what Wlad fights in)

you stating that defeats the purpose of this thread.

what if fighters today had 8ounce gloves?

what if fighters back then had 12 ounces??

    would it be different.

comparing a heavyweight today with gloves that are 50 percent heavier then the gloves of the past eras is a little hard to do.

its clear that the heavyweights we think of today would be bashing skulls in more if they had 8 ounce gloves.

I've seen enough to know, that Peter and Arreola are trash, that adamek, Valuev and Chag are nothing special, and that VERY OLD versions Briggs and Maskiev should NOT have had any success if there were quality fighters around. The Klits don't suck but everybody else sure does.

I'm not so sure that Briggs and Maskaev would have today gained so much success. I do not count them in top 10

Chagaev, Valuev, and Arreola would be equally reasonable fighters, I almost any decade

Other strange things are certainly going to present heavyweight, such as hard-evading tough matches, Read Klitschko

Chagaev isn't very good at all neither is Valuev (both struggled with an old Ruiz) and Arreola is a joke and a disgrace. Both Briggs and Maskaev have had thier moments, Maskaev at 40 or nearly 40 became WBC champ, something he could NOT even challenge for at his peak, Briggs had his moments with WBOGUS and is now fighting Vitali later this year, like I said Klits might not be bad but these other guys are trash anyway you slice it.

remember sam peters pathetic attempt at bobbin and weavin vs wlad, you could see he lacks inside game and it annoyed him, therefore i take tyson and fotc frazier over him.

I take Marciano over him too, and probably Archie Moore.
