How much footage have you seen of Loi? Why exactly do you favor him over Tszyu?

I liked Tszyu when he was around but I always thought he was a bit overated at the time. Good fighter but he lacked the resume to be considered a great fighter. He obviously should be in the Hall of Fame, there are already lesser fighters than Tszyu in there.

You can do this with the likes of Henry Armstrong. To be honest I think you're underrated Tyszu because he'd manhandle a good few names on that list. Just because you think another fighter from history beats him doesn't make it so

Tyszu can only beat the men put in front of him at the end of the day and didn't get the big names like DLH, Mayweather, Mosley etc etc but I'm sure he would have liked those fights

OH and to Freddie you only made this thread because he tortured your hero

Kostya ruled the roost at 140 when the roost was pretty deep. The one guy everyone wanted him to fight was Judah. He was a massive underdog and blew him away. The other guys like Mayweather and Cotto, moved up to 147. Kostya wasn't a very tall 140 pounder and smartly decided not to chase all the guys that left him behind at 140. He stayed and ruled until he got old and fought the kind of guy that makes old guys look old.
Much like most who argue that a prime Chavez would beat Tszyu, I'd argue a prime Tszyu would beat Hatton. But the fact is he wasn't prime anymore, that fight proved it so he retired. But the man deserves the HOF.
As for the Buddy McGirt argument. I'm surprised to learn that McGirt is not in the HOF. I think he deserves it as well. But I don't think he'd beat Tszyu if their careers had intersected.

I've seen bits of his fights with Ortiz, Perkins, Johansen and Famechon. I like Loi over Tszyu because of the following features he has, all of which would hold him in good stead against Kostya:

A rock solid chin, a high work rate, extreme strength in the clinch, and polished boxing skills on the inside and out.

Duilio's chin should see him take Tszyu's torpedos.

His strength should see him hold his own with Kostya on the inside.

The high work rate he set will tax Tszyu, who liked to fight at a measured pace.

His solid skills (on the inside especially with the body work) will see him chip away at Tszyu to the point where his punches lose sting and Loi will take over thereafter imo.

In a 15 rounder, I'd favour Loi for sure. Over 12, Tszyu has more of a chance, but still loses imo.

    Like who?

Really? I thought I was God on all things speculative.

    Sure. Who's saying otherwise?

You just proved my point. Tszyu has a better resume that McGirt and it's not that close.

For example Livingstone Bramble, who Tszyu beat before McGirt, would barely get in the TOP15 best wins of Tszyu.

Most of the better names like Bramble, Mamby etc. were on big losing streaks at the time.

How do you rate Hurtado for example? He easily outboxed Whitaker, knocking him down 4 times in the process, before getting caught late in the fight?

    How about Freddie Pendelton?

Tszyu has McGirt beat on every level: longevity, accomplishments, resume and most importantly boxing skill.

It was one of Hatton's best nights. Had a bit of a wrestle and a cuddle, then had a kebab afterwards, can you imagine a better saturday night? I can't.

The boxing hall of fame is already known to have somewhat low standards for who gets in so I'd agree with you that we're probably going to see a number of guys get in who most think shouldn't. I think there should be a slightly higher standard but at the end of the day its not a major issue.

Well, how about you list Kostya's top 15 wins so we can compare and talk about losing streaks and past prime fighters and what not?

Hurtado was an ok fighter, he did outbox Pernell, but Whitaker was on the downside by that time. He had already struggled with others before he even got to Hurtado.

Hurtado lacked a chin and mental toughness. He'd have been a good match up for Zab Judah, he's on that kinda level if you want to be charitable to him.

As for Pendleton, he was ok, why do you ask? He was a lot better than half the guys on Tszyu's resume with flashier records than him.
