What a cruel question!! No really, a very good question..one I've never considered before...I'll have to ponder this one.

Ok, I've thought it over...I go with Napoles by a slight margin. A very negligable difference between them, but overall, Mantequilla takes it.

Jose had the better career, but in so far as who the better fighter is in terms of ability, I'd say they are in the same class.

Yeah, like i said, the difference would have been inconsequential...both were GREAT fighters.

Napoles. Better defensively, smoother in his attack, better judgement of distance/footwork, etc.

Interesting question. Both were great champions although Sal never got the chance to prove his greatness over the long haul. Just for the hell of it, I give the edge to Sal.

Very tricky question, but I think I'd go for Napoles, close but clear. I think a certain type of fighter would always pose problems for Sal whereas Mantequilla was more adaptable.

Napoles for the reasons Bujia stated. Also a better puncher and integrated defense and offense more seamlessly for me.

Napoles at his peak was almost untouchable...a truly great fighter.

He's just lucky he didn't have to face the wrath of Cotto or Margarito.
