It is a great wee card and I am looking forward to all of the fights. Greene and Nellins will be exciting to watch, Wilton-Uzzy is an interesting rematch, the two title fights are well matched and Tolan-Jeffries is a potential banana skin for Jaffa. Conlan and Cusack get another run out - top night of boxing:thumbsup
As a fan, I don't want Duddy to take this. I'd only give John a punchers chance I'm afraid. It's a payday but I think he'd better off taking out tomato cans again for a while, building his confidence up again and then taking one last swing at things with a contender. He's a draw in NYC, people there seem to like to watch him fight regardless of the opposition. Keep taking a steady income from the sport and then take one last run at it. Chavez is no world beater, but John just couldn't pull the trigger like he used to. If Lee keeps John at range its a UD - a good stepping stone for Lee should it come off
Can't wait until tonight. This Lindsay-Simpson fight has been in the pipeline a long time and I'm hoping for a big performance from Lindsay to show he can move on to European level. Smart money is probably on Lindsay UD at 4/5, but I'm going to be greedy and throw a few quid on Lindsay rounds 7-12 at 13/2 :yep
I found some pics of the last Dolphil show. Some good shots in it http://www.sportsfile.com/more-images/10120042/
had a feelin this might happen was justwonderin would dibella put it on its a good match up for hbo and a step up for both fighters
so there are no spoilers the results are on our Twitter page http://twitter.com/#!/LoveIrishBoxing Tolan result already in
I'm with you on this one. If it is to be Lee/Duddy it should be at least a headline fight in it's own right, and could do the business in New York or Ireland. A bad defeat as an undercard spells the end of the road as far as serious challenges go for John and most likely a modest payday for his trouble. Duddy could use a few confidence fights before another big contest but it looks like he has lost the snap and pop of old. Don't know much about his current connections but wonder if new trainer could help or is it time to make what he can and cashout.
I think this is better than a headline for both of them! If it was their own card they have no actual promoter between them and will have to try and find somebody to put it on and in MSG that requires a lot of selling to get tickets sold etc i dont think anyone really knows how well this fight will sell in New York and if so how good is it to sell out MSG?? this way they are getting a promoter properly involved and the big one really is being on the same card as the martinez who is probably the winners fight and more importantly it will get HBO coverage i think thats really the big 1! a fight on HBO will greatly enhance either of their chances of getting a fight with Martinez as HBO rules all!
