You seriously need to stop listing Joppy as some 'good' win dude. You are obviously hyping him to enhace Bute's resume, and if I remember correctly, you hate hyping American fighters remember? Same with Brinkley.
Actually his last 2 wins make Ward look worse...He made some ugly fights vs mediocre fighters. BTW: Green was top 10 SMW? Really? This is the guy KO'd by Miranda for god sake.
I think I came across that thread. I posted something agreeing with the main idea, if I remember right.
You're post that you keep referring to is pretty flawed since you are hyping Joppy and Brinkley. They aren't anything special.
I dont care about the nationality of any fighter, just ability, styles and resumes etc. I hype fighters when credit is due. You may notice that I give alot of credit to S Cunningham, and before Kotelnik exposed Alexander, I gave him some credit also. No Joppy wasnt a great win for Bute as Joppy was a former MW past his best, but I dont think Joppys much worse than Green, and just makes Butes resume a bit fully, even though its not a real quality win
IMO if Ward does win the super 6, there is strong case for him to get the #1 spot...Nobody can deny him of that.
I slated the idea of Bute defending against Brinkleyy, and used that arguement to favour J Lacys resume, in that Lacy beat Reid by KO who had beaten Brinkley, and that Brinkley was then a Bute opponent. It was American posters who defended Brinkley saying he earnt his chance to fight Bute and was worthy. I never thought he was
Maybe, but its not as great as it sounds really Beats Kessler - A Calzaghe left over and when suffering double vision, by headbutts in Joakland Beats Green who had lost to Miranda (In Joakland) Beats Bika (not a S6 fight) who Calzaghe, Bute and Soliman had beaten, and didnt look good in doing so in Joakland. If he beats Abraham, he is beats a fighter coming off of 2 clear losses Now If he faces Froch and wins fair play, it will be a good win, but remember Froch lost to the same unwell Kessler. If its Johnson in the finals hes facing a 14 losses 2 draws fighter. Not great
I dont care how you try to nitpick through it...Ward is going to get the nod as the guy at 168 when its all said and done! That other stuff you typed means nothing to me! Deal with it!atsch
Whatever, just don't try to list Joppy or Brinkley as something good. They were both a gimme. Nothing more.
I havent listed them as something good, they are as you say gimmes, but they do add to a record that overall has a little more depth than Wards, but not more depth than Kesslers or Frochs, but by default goes above
