I was wondering HBO is trying to make BERTO into a superstar and is failing miserably.

They should feed Saul Alvarez Berto at the end of 2011 after Saul Fights Senchenko and M Hatton at 147....

Then pick up Alvarez as the next big start with HBO, he is more marketable.

    Just a thought.

I'm not sure Alvarez is ready for someone like Berto, frankly.

Power vs. speed is a good match up. No easy fight here.

Maybe by then. I'd like to see him fight Hatton. But what I'd really like is to see him fight a quick fighter who is somewhat limited, just to see how he handles speed. Someone like Said Ouali, Ashley Theophane or Shamone Alvarez.

Berto beats Alvares. I'm Mexican and usually a little bias with my country men, and I still don't see all that much from Alvares. He is good, but the hype is tremendous.

I honestly don't see how people would hesitate to pick Alvarez over Berto even now. :huh

Alvarez is the goods. He does get alot of hype but its because he is 20! and already fights like a mature champion.

The kid will no doubt be a champion. He has the skills and as he showed heart of one. I think even now its a 50-50 fight with Alvarez taking it at the end of 2011. We are talking about a Berto who was intimidated by Urangos power who is a 140 pounder. Alvarez is a huge WW with power to boot. His speed is also good.

Alvarez will be the new DLH except more fan friendly.

"feeding" him berto? I think the guy is overrated but if canelo had that kind of attitude about this fight he'd get KTFO.

Bums? He is a 20 year old who has faced very good opposition for his age.
He just KTFO out of Baldomir who was the lineal champ 3-4 years ago.

He has been fighting some C B level fighters because he is young and didnt have much amateur experience when he went pro.
