you rate kahn to high and underate maidana then **** like that happens.only thing suprised me in the fight was the punches kahn was able to take.
Agreed with Plat ^ Lufc, you were saying before the fight that Maidana can't even punch hard. Come on, get real man. You heavily underrated Maidana. Work is much harder than it looks. Maidana may be basic but he does have Boxing skills and good footspeed and decent handspeed. Power can demoralise any fighter.
I have alot of respect for Maidana, the guy is a beast, but he gave Khan his best shots but still could not drop him. Khan and Maidana are both real Warriors...
I agree with you. Some people are just impressed a lot with speed and flashy combos and consider it skills. The speed and athleticism he has, but the actual technical skills leave a lot to be desired. I would like to see him improve in many areas. There's a certain fluidity in combination punching that he lacks; he too often throws sloppy arm punches. The way he turned over that body shot in round 1 was great, I'd like to see more power in his punches. I also think part of the reason for this is balance. You have to be in the right position after throwing a certain punch in the combination to get leverage on the next punch, and too often his body placement leaves him no choice other than to throw a shot without leverage behind it. He threw some nice right uppercuts on the inside when Maidana was coming in. However, once Maidana got inside, Khan couldn't do much with his lack of inside game. What I think needs the most work is his defense. He had no defense for Maidana's uppercuts.

You underrated Maidana. You called him an Argentinian bum who'd forged a career by knocking out other Argentinian bums and got beat by a b-level contender when he faced Kotelnik. I can't be anything but impressed by Khan, he took on an extremely dangerous opponent and for the most of it, boxed well, in other parts he fought well and for 2 rounds he ran well. Talk about Khan v Bradley, Bradley isn't the pressure fighter Maidana is, this will give Khan the space and time to execute a gameplan more efficiently. That said Bradley can throw in combinations, something that would have got Khan KO'd if Maidana could have done. But then you have to ask if Bradley has Maidana power, and I would say no. Basically, the clinic you thought Khan would put on, I'd now favour him to put it on v Bradley, 'cause as I said, he won't be given the bums rush by Tim and will be able to have a boxing match with him and I trhink Khan can outbox Tim with his speed and reach. I wasn’t impressed by his defence. Going into this fight, I already knew it wasn’t up to the standard it needed to be. But watching him get hit cleanly with two power-shots within the first 30 seconds, made me realize his defence is even shitter than I thought. It was only his conditioning, heart and determination which lifted him out of trouble. But apart from that, his offensive arsenal was pretty good. People here are bashing it, but they’re forgetting the type opponent he was facing and the situations he was in. You want him to plant his feet more and turn into his punches, despite the fact that if he did this, he would have put himself in harm’s way far too much. The plan was to box and move. And even then the relentless Maidana would catch up to him and hurt him. So imagine what would have happened if he took your advice and focused on planting his feet and turning punches. Khan knew Maidana could take him out at any point, so he had to remain cautious throughout. And if Khan is just an average boxer with good speed, then what are Bradley and Alexander? That says a lot about the division, if the person who many pundits and experts regard as the most talented 140 pounder, is little more than average. He’s got things to work on, and he’s just 24. laz, what i actually said was his power was overrated and he didnt have enough to put khan away. i have been proved right there, and yet another big name goes by who maidana wasn't able to knock out. at the lower levels his power was good, but vs kotelnik, ortiz, corley and now khan he proved he doesn't have enough to put a top guy out. what did surprise me was the way khan couldn't finish off maidana. i thought khan could do that and he couldn't. this is why i was disappointed. perhaps you don't rate khan as high as i did do, but that is what i expected of him. since he couldn't i have been left unimpressed.

Anyone who can beat Maidana is impressive. But the manner in which Khan defeated him is not impressive. Khan has the ability to do more and looked very vulnerable.
i'm a fan... not only was he cool as **** when i hung out with him...but he truly showed some ****en nutz last week
