What defeat hurt you the most as a fan???

But he was outboxing him for most of 9 rounds (I don't remember my score exactly but I had him winning comfortably)

 

I remember Oscar winning the first 8 - 9 rounds, the speed difference was very clear. Infact at some points I thought it was a masterclass on how to minimise the strengths of a power puncher.

Oscars problem was that he lost the last 3 rounds clearly and had the look of a fighter going backwards.

Not sure Oscar ever really had world class stamina, if he had stamina to match that left hook , then we wouldnt even be discussing this fight.

 

Tyson vs. Douglass: I was still fairly young, and it was unreal that ANYBODY could knockout Mike Tyson.

I still say to this day I've never seen Roy lose a fight that he actually tried to win. Which pisses me off even more.

Judah Vs. Cotto: I think Zab was doing well till the lowblows happened.

Margarito Vs. Pacquiao: That's probably one of the worst beatings I've seen anybody take in a long time.

For me, it was Larry Holmes losing to Spinks and just slightly missing Marciano's record. The he lost the rematch and then Tyson TKo'd him. Very bad run for me. I am a huge Holmes fan.

 

Cotto - Margarito. Had high hopes for Cotto. So glad to see him regain his composure lately

Pac - ODLH/Morales. It feels terrible when HOF's simply shake their heads in denial and finally in surrender (for good).

broke my heart to see the proud warrior get bashed up by a substantially bigger guy. especially a guy as savvy as money.

 

and yes morales' second defeat to pac was a crusher for me aswell. when he looked at his old man in the corner with that defeated look in his eyes.


the recent katsidis one was poignant too for obvious reasons....

 

Hatton - Mayweather, Hatton was the face of British boxing at the time and he was undefeated at the time. I knew Hatton was going to lose pretty convincingly deep down but seeing it happen was painful, he was already on the slide then imo but was pretty much shot vs. Pac. He could not fight at a high level without that great punch resistance he had in his peak. Skelton - Williams 1 as I was a huge fan of his at the time. I also hate it when ever a faded fighter who was once world class or maybe great loses to a prime fighter who would never lasted with them at their peak.

I hated watching one of my favourite boxers of all time, James Toney, getting wiped out by Randy Couture. The only thing that made me feel better was imagining what Toney would do to him under boxing rules.
