Your thoughts? And what would the outcome be? Tyson Fury has already stared out Wladimir Klitschko now he is pleading with David Haye to postpone his retirement until he has a real Battle of Britain. The two-time English heavyweight champion has been training with IBF, WBO and IBO king Klitschko ahead of his own clash with Galen Brown on Saturday and says he earned the respect of the world No1. But he is convinced he would do more than that if he stepped into the ring with WBA champion Haye, who is set to face both Klitschkos next year in a bid to unify the heavyweight division. After that, Haye says he will retire. But Fury hopes he goes back on that decision long enough to set up an all-English encounter with him. And, unlike Hayes farcical clash with Audley Harrison last month, Fury insists this one would be the real deal. I need a few more fights, but Im on Hayes tail, said the 22-year-old from Wilmslow. Hes the one Im thinking of because hes the weakest champion. Im big, Ive got the heart of a champion, Im fast and Ive got good power. I dont think hed stand a chance. Im not scared of him. The fight with Harrison was terrible. But Haye was as scared as Harrison to throw a punch. He is terrified of a big man. Any big man who isnt scared of Haye will give him problems. But Haye had him beat before they went in. That was Harrisons last chance to gain respect, but hes done himself in. He will always be remembered for that fight. If it was me, Id have been right into Haye. Ive got a cousin who weighs 10st and hed have put up a better fight. Any boxer would. Fury has already been involved in a domestic war, twice beating John McDermott to be crowned English champion. But his taunts at Haye may fall on deaf ears if the 30-year-old goes through with plans to hang up his gloves before his 31st birthday next October. It is a prospect condemned by Fury. When youre world champion you dont keep saying youre going to retire, he said. Im a fighting man. If Im world champion, Im going to defend my title until I cant walk never mind quitting. When does a champion say hes going to retire? Hes only just won the title. Fury has earned as much a reputation for his motor-mouth as his punching power in his fledgling career. But his record deserves respect. Undefeated in 12 fights so far, he is tipped to become a major force in the heavyweight ranks and he hopes to spread his name even further on Saturday when he takes on Brown in Quebec, Canada. TV exposure On the undercard of Bernard Hopkins WBC and IBO light-heavyweight title clash with Jean Pascal, it will ensure him worldwide TV exposure. In February he is due to take on the undefeated Neven Pajkic before setting his sights on British and Commonwealth champion, Dereck Chisora. Del Boy was supposed to face Wladimir Klitscko last weekend, only for the Ukrainian to pull out through injury. Fury had been training with Klitschko ahead of that fight. And after getting up close and personal with the worlds best as part of his camp in Austria, he says he is even more convinced he can become the most feared fighter on the planet. Ive experienced a world champions training camp and seen what he does, said Fury. When I first got there, I was asking questions and he was looking me straight in the eye as if he wanted me to look away. When he saw I wouldnt be intimidated he came round and he was all right after that. It was friendly but Ill be his friend until I take his titles off him. "Going to the camp I was expecting him to be superhuman or something. But I could see he was just a man like me with a pair of boxing gloves on. He did just the same stuff as I do but he was a lot smaller than I thought. After seeing him, I am 100 per cent confident I can be world champion. Seeing him sparring, I reckon with more experience I could take him. But before world domination, Fury wants to prove hes the best on these shores and that means Chisora, who now looks destined to miss out on a shot at Klitschko, with talks already underway about a superfight with Haye. I didnt think Chisora stood a chance against Klitschko, said Fury. He is a limited fighter. Hes British class and I dont think he will go any further. Im his mandatory challenger and Im going to take his title off
Oh dear. You could have put Fury and Harrison in the ring against Haye and the outcome would still have been the same.
Really? i dont really follow Tyson Fury, so would not know what the challenge would be like, obviously ive heard of him but never watched him fight. G
A lot of hot air and boasting, though understandable. Fury admits it himself, though, he 'needs a few more fights' first. If Haye is still around and champion at that point, and Fury hasn't lost, then it would seem a good idea. Premature at the moment though - get in line, Tyson.
Yeah, the same could be said for Chisora VS Fury as well, the trash talk would be immense :hey:hey:hey although the actual fight would be decent as well. Chisora VS Fury has to happen at some stage next year if Delboy dont fight a Klitschko,i'd take Chisora by late stoppage
Yeah,Fury got a joke decision against Mcdermott ........ enough said ?? Fury's young though and should improve a fair bit, sparring with the Klits wont hurt either.
Nice cheers for that mate i will have to do some research on Fury and see what hes like, whats he ranked atm? and has he got a decent KO rate? G
He's ko'd/tko'd 9/12 opponents but he doesn't look like he's got outstanding power to me. I thought the first Mcdermott fight was a decent scrap, give that a watch if you wanna check him out.
Agreed! IF haye for some drunk reason ever took the fight it with be like the harrison fight! Fury is a joke and will never be a heavy weight champion
