Brian Magee is possible opponent for Bute's next fight

That would be a result for Magee if he can land that fight.

It's better than fighting for Sartison's fake WBA title.

 

How do you work that out. Sartison is a fight he can win.

Says it all about Bute really fighting a guy Froch stopped 4 years ago even if Magee has been on a good run since.

 

Not much else for Bute really. Can't see Stieglitz taking the fight.

It's a fake world title. If I was Magee I would rather take the harder fight in Bute for a legitimate title.

rob thats bollocks, magee gave froch one of his toughest fights (i believe the score was someting like 96-95) and got taken out by a great shot


one loss doesnt define a career and render all subsequent opponents as inferior to the man who defeated him

 

also magee should look at getting a nice slice of that $6 mil or watever showtime are paying him - hes not getting any younger and there arnt very many other fights there for him

Brian Magee to get crack at IBF world title in March

Belfast boxer Brian Magee is set to challenge IBF super-middleweight champion Lucian Bute for his world title in Canada on 19 March.

Official confirmation of the contest is expected on Friday.

Magee had been expected to fight for the WBA version of the title in January after being named as a mandatory challenger to Dimitry Sartison.

In September, Magee made the first defence of his European title in Dublin by stopping Armenian Roman Aramian.
