I think once it gets into the 175 division, Mustafa had the stronger frame,chin,etc...Hearns was the better fighter by far but not as durable at 175 and Hearns also loses the height and reach advantage that his freakish body endowed him with at 147 and 160..I think with speed and talent Hearns beats Eddie(Mustafa at 160 but stepping up to 175 Eddie was more at home.
I'm imagining a well-timed Eddie left hook to Tommy's rib cage and Tommy doing that Hagler fight ''wobble-around"...
Post of the year? Well, there are a couple weeks left yet. (I figure Stonehands89 for 2010 Poster of the Year, Burt Bienstock for newcomer 2010 Rookie of the Year.) Be warned. If I find myself at the keyboard while sipping too much VSOP brandy from the flask always at my right hand, more demonic forces may attain control of my fingertips!:stir
Tommy ALWAYS showed up ready to fight, Mustafa didn't. There's a chance for an upset against an unmotivated EMM, but the best version of EMM stops Tommy.
Tommy might be a bit out of his league here.Eddie would take his time, toy with Hearns, and then stop him in the eleventh round.Mustafa Muhammad is one of the several fighters he couldn't mess with at that weight.
Tommy had the size, speed, skill and heart to beat muhammad but was short on physical toughness. I think that hearns would gain an early advantage but would be gradually broken down by body shots by around the 12 or 13th.
