2 Quick Questions for anyone who would like to answer 1: Did Kahn vs Maidana prove to you that Kahns chin has improved or that he is still capable of being wobbled 2: I'm watching a few rounds of the fight now and to me there isn't really a big different between kahn & dirrell in terms of foot movement ( A LOT OF IT ) yet people love to call Dirrell a runner. Is Kahn a runner to you ? or is he a tactical boxer? thanks:hi:
Khan, a man who supposedly had a Glass chin was taking punches from Maidana, so Khan 'running' after being seriously hurt doesn't bother me at all, because no one expected Khan to take them shots anyway. He was hit by a man who's KO'd all but 3 opponents. His chin is not glass, it's not average, it's Good. People need to count how many shots he took. Just look at my sig below. Khan wouldn't have 'ran' as much if he wasn't so hurt and demoralised by Maidana's beastly power. He'll gain experience from this and learn to use angles instead of moving a lot.
Big difference mate, Khan spent 2 rounds running from Maidana (won the 11th) and Dirrell spent the entire fight sprinting from Froch:deal Lets not forget, Dirrell already has a history of pussying out of fights when faced by the slightest adversity. When he decides to pursue a career in Hollywood (btw great audition versus Abraham) I hear there's a role for him in the Wizard of Oz re-make.....
1. At 140 his conditioning has improved and made him a little more durable. Although it's not as bad as we thought, I think he still has a relatively weak chin. So yes, he's more than capable of being wobbled and dropped. 2. Khan's not the same type of runner as Dirrell. Khan goes on the move when he senses an attack, but will at the same time be throwing shots of his own. Dirrell just runs and runs.
Khan, if anything, is too eager to exchange. He's been like that for his entire career; he has a fighting mentality. Even in the amateurs he was an attacking fighter at heart. He ran from Maidana because one more punch could easily have put him into dream land -- he took some horrific shots in the tenth. Khan moves a lot, but he also makes sure to throw punches in combinations, so it's not just 'run and potshot here and there'. Even in the twelfth round, when he must have been wanting to fall over from exhaustion and pain, he still managed to briefly stand his ground and fire combinations at the end of the round.
kahn may move alot like dirrell but i think dirrell has better defence the kahn.not only that but i think kahn throws way more punches then dirrell does to.two different type of movers to me, one is a mover but active so you let him slide because hes letting his hands go and the other is a mover that want let his hands go as much.as far as chin i think kahn chin at 140 is granite one, not iron but granite.
No fckin joke mate, each time i see it, the more brutal it gets, the guy was loading up on his shots, and had a horrible calmness about himself, almost like he was expecting to KO him any second lol
Khan's chin may be a bit better at 140, but I still think Khan was there to be taken out by Maidana in the late rounds. He just couldn't connect well enough to get the job done.
1. His chin is good... not Margarito good but definately solid, he took some brutal shots in the 10th, I'm not sure that many 140lbers make it out of that round without at least being knocked down... Bradley and Alexander included. 2. He's a 'hit and run' type of fighter I think, nothing wrong with that, he definately has the speed for it. If he works on his footwork and lateral movement he's going to be a very very solid fighter... and very hard to beat for anyone at his weight.
Khan has more heart but Dirrell has better D. Dirrell wouldn't stand in front of his opponent and eat shots which is something you're not suppose to do anyways lol. Even if Khan ran he still won the fight clearly and proved that he has an above-average chin.
It's not as bad as people make it. He fought the last few rounds and outboxed froch in the early rounds. He did run inbetween the fight but surprisingly he did kept the fight close even by doing so little.
