****ing dumb**** hater ****. :twisted:atsch:fire Foreman KTFO PRIME Joey Frazier in less then 2 Roundz!!! AND Foreman KTFO PRIME Kenny Norton in less then 2 Roundz!! That is TWO PRIME ATG's Big George KTFO in less then 4 Roundz Total!!
That's just the way his management planned it. Lots of fights against selected fighters. Then 'BOOM',,,,,'Down Goes Frazier' His career was scripted beautifully up to the Ali fight. Don't you think. And don't forget the $5,000,000 pay day in 10/74. And the guy was only 25.
Foreman Hook, who did he beat besides Frazier and Norton that were great? Cooney? Qawi? Moorer? Who??
The first 4 would beat the second 4. Jean-Pierre Coopman, "The Lion of Flanders". Evangelista was 14-1-1 against absolute nobodies, and was coming off an 8-round points loss to Lorenzo Zanon. He'd never been more than 8 rounds. He went 15 with Ali. Ali was champion of the world, but surely he should have been retired.
Un,,,,,,,,,I don't think Bokaj can outwit you on this one! Jean Pierre Coopman. From Belgium, Had never been out of his country, up to the Ali fight. From Antwerpen, that boxing hot-bed. Claim to fame, decisioned an undefeated Bernd August (16-0-1) in 1974. Yes the same Bernd August, that Ali was trying to set up a title fight against. Jean Pierre came to Puerto Rico, and headed right to the bar, as per his manager. Who believes he was drunk, when entering the ring. Unranked, until weeks before the fight, when suprisingly both the WBA and WBC, without each others knowledge, both rank him in the top 10. The fight, broadcast on CBS in prime time. Who shills for Ali, none other than Brent Musberger, who on National TV, tells us that Ali has not trained properly, and this could be the night he may lose his title. Musberger then says, this Coopman from Belgium, is not like any other fighter from Europe, he's extremely tough, thats why they call him 'The Lion of Flanders'. I've seen him in sparring, and he packs a 'heck of a wallop'.
What do these fighters all have in common, besides being (well you pick the word) * Bernd August * Billy Aird * Lorenzo Zanon * Dante Cane * Randy Neumann * Bunny Johnson * Bepi Ross * Alfio Righetti * Jose Manuel Urtain * Mike Schutte Fighters that Muhammad Ali wanted to defend his 'World Heavyweight Title' against.
The thing is, Schutte and even Conteh probably came closer to an Ali fight than fights the public wanted back then; Foreman rematch. Norton 4 after that Yankee stadium decision. Jimmy Young rematch. And nobody was clammoring for a Leon Spinks title fight either & his credentials were not as good as Schutte or Conteh's.
zad, Wasn't the Leon Spinks vs. Alfio Righetti fight a mini-eliminator for a shot at Ali. And Bernd 'Beanpole' August was lined up for a Germany fight too.
That would be Signore' Guiseppe 'Bepi' Ros, when addressing the Italian Heavyweight Campione'. He was considered a more worthy challenger in early-1975 than the undefeated Duane Bobick, by the 'World heavyweight Champion'.atsch Must have been all the 'lira' the Italian promoters were throwing at him, to come over to Rome for a little espresso in early Spring 1975.
If memory serves correct, it was the Ledoux fight when all of a sudden Spinks is named as a possibility to get the Ali sweepstakes for a title defense. And Ledoux was hardly a blip on the map at the time. And just where did that come from anyway? These guys were further down the ladder than the Stan Ward's around at the time. No matter, there were always names thrown around from 75 onwards and guys like Wepner came out of absolute nowhere for title defenses. 1975, first fight after Zaire and what in the world is a guy like Wepner doing in there with Ali? Can you imagine the backlash if foreman had won and selected Wepner? The thing was, there were quality guys around, it was just the other C grade/perephery fighters getting title shots instead.
