To me a duck is when you turn down the biggest fight in the history of the sport over some blood work. if you have nothing to hide, why couldnt you agree to the testing considering this is the biggest gate in the sport to be made.

IMO real "ducks" rarely happen. Considering the egos, negotiation difficulties, boxing politics, and all those other things that happen before a fight, there are a lot of valid or acceptable (irritating as they may be) reasons for some fights not happening. It's hardly ever simple black and white.

One example of true ducking that I can think of is when the timing is right (that is both are prime or close enough to it and the schedules are in alignment), the money is right and 1 fighter agrees to all demands by the other fighter and for some reason the fighter that made the demands still doesn't want the fight... that's ducking.

 

A duck is when a fighter in his prime sees another fighter in his prime , within the same division and will do everything not to fight him.

I personally thought Hatton ducked Witter. There was absolutely no reason that fight didnt happen.

I never saw him fight, so im like he kicked floyd ass lets see what the talk is about, fight to a got damn draw with ortiz??? I was like what in D **** did I just watch!. glad khan and maidana was on the card real ****ing champions

Another Example Margarito calling out Floyd, I had no clue who he was I didnt know him Either until he mentioned a big name. 1st fight I saw him in got beat by Williams. Williams is an overrated 1 demensional fighter. I thought margarito as poo he did beat cotto tho. but I have cotto on the same level.

Examples:
-haye not fighting klitschko: duck
- if alexander starts knocking everyone out but khan wont face him that is a duck
- sonny liston if he never fought ali would have been a duck
- hearns and leonard both owning 147 leonard ducked him before they eventually fought.
