Berto Beats Manny:

I'd pick Berto over Pacquiao too.... Berto has the skills, youth, speed, reflexes, and power to give Pacquiao trouble. Pac fans don't want to see their hero in a tough fight against an undefeated champ in his prime. So they'll continue to find excuses as to why Berto shouldn't fight Pacquiao.

 

I like Berto BUT Pac would kick his ass, as would Mayweather. Don't get me wrong, berto is a good fighter with potential but he is NOT great, Pac is great.

 

Pac would put him out for the count.

There isn't a single Pacquiao fan who doesn't want to see Pacquiao-Mayweather. So are you saying that Berto is better than Mayweather?

Berto has to get to Manny early and it wont be easy because MAnnys elusive as fck. Everyone has said that, hes there one second , not the next. Dont assume that because he decided to stand toe to toe in some of his fights that he'll do the same with Berto. Berto has a shot but I wouldnt rate it higher than when Cotto fought Manny.

 

Here's how the fight would go down:

After the opening bell, Berto's gonna try to immediately impose his power on Pac in order to gain respect for the rest of the fight. He might rip some hard jabs to Pac's head, but he'll pay for it because Pac will eat a jab to land his left inside a 3 punch combo. It's the first round, so Berto while he's still strong, thinks aiight, I can do this.

Then Berto lands an uppercut flush with much commitment. It doesn't stop Pac. Pac taps his gloves together and signals, "now we're playing". Berto spends the rest of fight nervous because holy ****, Pac's punches come in bunches, from weird angles, with accuracy, and they hurt.

Basically, he won't know how to deal against the greatest defensive fighter in the sport.

Pac stops him under 8.

 

Pretty spot-on, except for the "under 8" part. I think "under 4" is a bit more accurate.

 

And for the record, I'm not one of those guys "making excuses" for why Pac shouldn't fight Berto. I hope he does fight him next, or soon at least. It'll be fun to watch Berto get laid out.

And Pac's not "running from him like the plague". I think if anyone brings up Berto to Pac's camp their first response is probably "who?". Berto couldn't sell out a fight in his backyard (literally) if he gave away free BBQ and beer.

 

I agree witchu man! Berto vs collazo was a long time ago and to be honest berto was really green in that fight. He didnt know his chin and his lack of understanding of twelve rnd fight and keepin his endurance up until the final bell was just off. I actually believe quintana would have looked like the berto vs collazo fight pre collazo berto. Thats just what i believe but seeing that hes older and has great speed and power i think he can give pac man a hellava fight. I still side wit pac but i think if no ko happens it will probably go like this on the scorecards pac 16-12 over berto By the way if this fight happen berto will be a huge underdog so my money will be on Berto. I believe hes a LIVE underdog

 

Berto deserves a shot ,but how can anybody think he would win'...collazo schooled him'...and estrada showed you how easy he is to hit!!....i agree it was a while back and berto has gotten better but pac is much greater then whatever he's learned since collazo and estrada fights

Everyone can improve....even Floyd. So yea....PAC's foot work could improve but compared to Berto....Manny's on anther level with footwork and speed.

I'm sure PAC will have a little bit of trouble with a mover, just like he had a little trouble with Margs Size, Strenght and Power....but best believe it will be MINIMAL! Berto isn't near PAC's level. He's not even on Shane's level.

I see Berto taking punishment before his Dad saves him and his career.

 

PAC said he got his ass whooped ONCE by Khan in the BUILD UP and PROMOTION of Khan's fight with Miadana. For the most PAC they say PAC gives better than he receives with Khan.

 

PAC is in a very unique position where he's levels above his peers with regards to his popularity and the level he's operating on in the ring. When you are "THE MAN"...there's a lot of people who are hoping and praying for your downfall. So Berto.....is the NEXT great HOPE to end PAC's dominance. There's been a lot of those over the last 8 yrs.
