Is father time finally going to catch Hopkins

Maybe i am, but i've watched him most of his career so far and never really been impressed.I don't see a smart fighter there.

 

I'm going for Hopkins

 

Hopkins doesn't really deserve this fight anyway.

I wish the division was strong enough so crusty old fossils weren't continually able to maneauver themselves into big fights.Hopkins, Tarver, Glen Johnson...

What a massively overrated fighter Chad Dawson was, even though he can still easily come back and have a good career i'll never root for the *******.

 

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Hopkins still has his legs. If he is able to offset Pascal's range and make him hesitate, by making him reach then countering...that is more than half the battle with an opponent like Pascal.

 

He probably does deserve it, he won the Ring Championship, lost it on a controversal SD, beat the lineal MW champ, beat a top10 contender (Jones).

As i hinted at though, the division is weak enough where it doesn't take much to get a shot anyway.I just can't be bothered with all these older fighters hanging around not offering much, Hopkins has paid his dues but he's getting into DLH territory now.

 

Hopkins will be p4p top 5 all time tomorrow night.

 

Yes the division is ****, I was hoping Dawson maybe something, he still may come back. In fairness this is a decent challenge for Hops, but we know full well he likely wouldn't want it if Dawson won, based on styles.

I really don't know if I want to watch Hopkins spoiling, butting, jab/right and grab, hip hitting his way to a close decision he probably moans about losing

I´m a fan of Hopkins but I have the feeling he reaches too far this time. Too much is against him. But then ... everytime I picked someone to beat him, I was wrong.

 

I could be wrong but I don't think Hopkins would have took this fight if he wasn't completely confident he had Pascal's number. There's a reason he put off a Dawson fight for so long. I think Hopkins spoils his way to another decision win.

 

I´m certain he only took the fight because he knows he will win. But he very well may be delusional about his age and be wrong here. People tend to lie to themselves getting old.

 

Dawson had a lot of hype and supporters.Couldn't fight him just in case he might have been at least partially worthy of them.Dawson gets proved not to be so formidable and Hopkins swoops in.

of course you keep doing that and you eventually pick the wrong fighter and get smashed to bits like Leonard against Norris, but i doubt Pascal is the man to do it.

 

Well Pascal looks in excellent shape for this fight...

Plus his beard looks badass... like a black lumberjack.
