Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins- Jean Pascal by UD
Marco Huck vs Denis Lebedev- Denis Lebedev by KO

Alright boxing fans this is pretty much the last mega huge boxing night of the year 2010. It was a decent year, that went out with a bang. So let's get started on the fights for this saturday night.

Starting with the more technical bout of the evening, Pascal-Hopkins. Everybody knows about the legendary B-Hop. The 160 king for many years, 20 straight middleweight defenses, shocking the world when he beat up on Tito that sent him to the list of fighters that became shot after their "0" was taken away, beat up Tarver to the point where....well Tarver was pretty much the up and down fighter that he is even after B-Hop destroyed him, and he then knocked Kelly Pavlik to an alcohol rehab center. B-Hop is the old experience vet that has never lost in a humiliating way to date. Everybody is once again against B-Hop (to a lesser extent this time) but still he is a solid underdog going up against a young lion, in his ring, where 15,000 fans are rabid and ready to cheer Pascal's every move in this fight. Which brings up the point that the fans can't fight for their fighter, so how good is Jean Pascal actually? Well, he is a damn good fighter actually. Very fast, solid power, good boxing ability, great durability, great heart, just an all around damn fine boxer. He first came onto the scene where fought at 168 against Carl Froch in the UK and he and Froch put on a great show. Pascal got the loss and that is still his only loss. Pascal moved up to 175 and rebounded by fighting in yet another FOTY contender and another good opponent Adrian Diaconu. he won the WBC strap and has defended it against good fighters. His first defense against Silvio Branco, Adrian Diaconu (where Pascal fought with basically one arm) and just recently back in August against Chad Dawson.

So, now how will this fight play out and who will come out victorious? Well, it all comes down to speed vs timing. Will Pascal's speed disrupt B-Hop's timing and counter punching? Or will B-Hop be able to time and counter Pascal and come out on top and leave the world in awe once again and another frustated fighter thinking "what happened?" and watch as their career falls apart. Anyway, I'll take the safe pick, picking Pascal based on his speed, youth, and hometown playing a huge factor of what happens saturday night. I think Hopkins will decent in the early rounds, but towards the end he may start gassing out and starting falling on the canvas trying to get a break....which I hope doesn't happen because it was cringeworthy to see him do that against Calzaghe and against Jones Jr. I think Hopkins will lose by UD, and I don't see him getting his ass kicked or anything like that, but I do think it will be a close but clear victory for Pascal. One has to wonder why Hopkins took this fight so quickly? That's whats interesting to me at least, just to see if B-Hop can excute that plan that he has established in his head or if his 45 year old body won't let him. Anyway, I'll quit typing and talk about the other fight for saturday night.

Alright, then we got the early fight (or later fight that night depending on where your from) Huck-Lebedev fight, and I can't see this fight turing out any other way. This fight will be a war and it will end in a KO. I'm having trouble seeing it any other way...may'be not a straight up Gatti-Ward, Vazquez-Marquez type war, but a good action packed fight that ends in a stoppage. Ok, so we got Marco Huck with the caveman style that has developed some boxing skills over the years and with dynamite in both hands. He has sort of become the top dog at Cruiserweight by default with Adamek and Haye moving up. Huck along with Cunningham have the best arguments for being the best at the moment. Cunningham stopped Huck in the 12th round when they first fought, but Cunningham has been very inactive while Huck has been active and has been fighting quality fighters. Godfrey, Minto, Ramirez, etc. So, he has the most leverage and a case for being the case while Denis Lebedev can throw his name into the mix with a win over Huck. The 31 year old up and coming fighter with dynamite in his hands has fought good fighters as well moving on up and getting his shot. Enzo Maccarinelli, Esparza, and Alexeev. So, with all that said I see this fight being action packed ending in a stoppage victory and I think Lebedev will win. His boxing skills are better, he has nice speed and I think he will take out Huck in front of his Germany fans saturday night.
