On Saturday? He showed a ton of flaws that almost cost him dearly, and it was against a relatively crude guy in Maidana who doesn't have near the physical gifts of Maidana. Khan showed big positives in weathering the storm and toughing it out. He succeeded where Victor Ortiz failed. As far as his actual boxing that night, there's a huge amount of improvement to be done if we're talking about Hall of Fame.
The only way I see this happening is if he unifies both LWW and WW. Even if that means waiting for PBF and Pac to retire before he attempts it
No offense but don't Khan have his own section on the forum? (British Boxing) I understand pre-fight or a couple days after talk in general, But all this ATG stuff? Just sayin'
I wasn't a Khan believer till that fight. Khan showed that he has what it takes to be elite and a great fighter. Theres no where else to go but up for him. He'll get there. When Khan was fighting for his life it reminded me of a live dog fight. Khan was getting rolled like a small pup and came out alot stronger.
HOF'ers tend to have 10-ish career defining wins. What are his career defining wins to this point? 08 Barrera, Kotelnik, Paulie Malignaggi, and Marcos Maidana? 4, and really only the Maidana win. He has a ways to go, considering he's already been KO'd savagely by a lower level fighter. That plus the fact he says he wants to retire early, I don't believe so, but he will have all the opportunity.
What do you think he showed that fight that shows he'll be a great HOF fighter? I liked the grit he showed, but lots of fighters have heart. We all knew he was fast and can pop when he gets leverage behind his shots, it's not like that's anything new. His actual skills are still very unrefined, he's still getting by too much on physical gifts.
To early for me to give an opinion on this matter. Well have to see how many great wins and titles Khan can get.
he has the raw skills and work ethic so i dont see why not. he has been rich since after the olympics so the money from getting to that level wont make him complacante
still too early to judge i still say he has a china chin that looping right hand that made him noodle legged didn't even hit him on the chin and didn't look THAT powerful
If he fights on till his 30s, shapes his defence up a bit, he could easily make it to the HOF we saw on saturday that he has the grit and athletic ability to beat anyone at 140. Unifying at 140 would make him one of the best P4P fighters in the world, moving up to 147 and becoming a two weight division champ will solidify his career, if he ever squares of with mayweather, win/lose/draw it will add to his legacy But thats all dream, because if her truly wants to retire when hes 28 then we can expect at least 8 more fights. And they all need to be QUALITY opposition and not guys like Lamont Peterson
Fighters always say they're going to retire at a young age, or "soon". I never believe them, unless they're old and they suck.
