well if this is his muscular weight or he's weighed in dressed as he did for the 2nd mcdermmott fight, i don't know, but if its his stripped weight, well, he was 18,12, for power, this page fellow is no mug, he moves well , very fit, hard to stop, this weight indicates a lack of seriosness, galen brown diden't need training for, but page is a long way up from him, an unfit tyson will have a hard night, lots of leaning on, shoving etc, can't see him k.o.ing page, its going to be hard for him to be impressive, unless this is really his muscular weight?:think
he's been training with wlad and steward hasn't he? he must be in at least some kind of shape, but 19st + is a bit much
Not really on topic but I've just finished Bartley Gormans book and Tyson Fury has one hell of a fighting pedigree on both sides of the family!!!
Fury's never gonna be properly in shape because he's a modern day heavyweight boxer. They don't believe they need to be in shape because it's mostly turned into a size game, with the bigger guy winning a large majority of the fights in the division. I didn't know that Tyson's opponent had changed again but Zack Page isn't too bad. Yeah he's a journeyman and Fury should beat him easily but if he's not properly focused, this is the kind of fight he could get upset in.
Misconception. The Klitschkos win most of their fights because they are the MOST SKILLED fighters in the division, with some of the best conditioning. the size is a plus, but if the Klits were as sloppy and unconditioned as Fury, they'd have lost many times.
No, but they are good enough athletically and talent-wise that they would still be the best even if they were more like 6'3, 6'4" imo. They work to their size, but the fundimentals they have are much better than most others in the division. to give an example, i think both are more skilled than thomas adamek, and david haye, and those two are beating larger opponents who are considered near the top of the division (valuev and areolla are the ones im thinking of) the size helps, but it's just a facet imo. Haye or Adamek would demolish fury unless he makes drastic improvements, and they are way smaller than him
It's not a misconception. I highly rate the Klitschko's and the reason they're so dominant is because they're big, skilled and in shape. I didn't mean the Klitschko's anyway I meant a few of the current prospects coming through like Fury. The nature of the division means there's always gonna be a share of fat heavyweights but it's definitely a growing trend.
I'm not a fan. I think hes a big tough fella definately, but for me he looks ungainly and clumsy at times.
well he might need to call on it if he's thinking its going to be very easy, this galen brown was a fat middleweight, page is a well conditioned small heavy, whos durable and awkward, not to mentioned very experienced in pretty high class, in fact id go as far as to say he's the best he's faced so far.:huh:good
Do you really believe that Wladimir is a more skilled boxer than Haye or Adamek? Come on you can't seriously believe that. If they were both the same height and weight, Wlad's style would have no effect and he'd be destroyed by both.
I don't put so much emphasis on size, more skill and ability. I think the klitschkos are the most skilled around right now (perhaps solis is close) but i think against historical smaller, more skilled guys they would lose (muhammed ali, larry holmes) Or guys that have a style advantage against tall, upright fighters (Joe frazier)
