They'd have a better shot at reaching his chin, i conceed that. but yes I think Wlad is more skilled.
As Gaz has said, if they were smaller, those styles would be much less effective. They are skilled, particularly Wlad, but it's their size that makes those skills so formidable. Without that height/size advantage they'd be a lot less impressive. I actually think Valuev would have caused Vitali all sorts of problems if they'd fought. There's some desire to anoint them as something special, but historically, they're utterly mediocre.
its sad but true. hayes weight, athleticism, and style is more like it. he just looks like a danger when he fights which is what heavyweight boxing is all about. i dont bother watching the kitschkos, seen one you seen them all imo. I think their skills are overrated
I'm not talking historically, i'm talking in context of whats around now. Q: How do you beat Wladamir Klitschko? A: Use head movement to get past the jab and come inside on him, then ko him. It's that simple, the sad fact is, none of todays heavyweights are skilled or smart enough to get past a jab.
i think its more that wlads opponents havnt been athetically capable of doing that. haye will stop him no doubt imo.
tyson is decent, has potential but at the moment he's a defeat waiting to happen, he really is i think his mindset could be wrong...and that's where it all starts, in the mind
I think Haye has a good chance, his best bet is to try and time the jab and come over it imo. I think thats what he was trying to do to audley, except audley didnt throw anything :yep but yeah, he will try to make wlad come forward, stay slightly out of range with his footspeed, wait until wlad lunges in the throw a rocket over the top of the jab and get wlad on ***** street, then windmill him to death.
Cant wait for this fight!! I really think haye will do the job, they both have vulnerablities but looking at it purely on styles, i go with haye.
It was just an observation based on the previous post, not a criticism.:good When you look at what works for the Klits they are in shape and skilled but you also have to acknowledge that their sheer size (and how they successfully employ it) is a also a factor. They must be doing something reasonably special or else every 6 foot 7 heavyweight would be world champion...;O)
Wladimir and Vitali would be in serious trouble against Haye without their size. Vitali leans back from punches. He has an awkward jerky kind of style which is fine when he's 6 ft 8 or whatever he is because opponents can't counterpunch a guy thats stood on the end of a huge reach and leaning away. Take that away he'd be as open as ****. Wladimir's weaknesses, I'm not sure we even need to go into them, but they'd come to the fore far more often if he was smaller. It's a huge part of why they should be favoured over Haye. Not so much Adamek though, Adamek can't punch which is his main problem at heavy.
Valuev is a King con, he is nothing. Haye ran from him for 12 rounds, Chageav beat him but lost the decision. You are a joke for saying that. Vitali is the best fighter at HW today by far.
