    You make a good point

if the top guy just lays down and lets someone else take his spot without putting up a fight, that's a duck. Bowe letting Lewis become king of the division rings a bell.

And also, promoters are match makers who make matches to get the best money out of their fighters over the long haul.

definition of duck or ducking may vary.
it depend on the person's thought and feeling.
some may say 'a', some others may say 'b'
FOR ME, PERSONALLY I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT IT HAPPENS WHEN A CHAMP OR FAMOUS BOXER OFFERS ANOTHER CHAMP OR FAMOUS BOXER BUT HE REFUSES IT FOR ILLOGICAL REASONS AND THEN CHOOSE ANOTHER BOXER THAT ARE WEAKER!

maybe the words 'duck or ducking' sometimes needs to be aligned to be 'dog, cat, mouse, or other!'

Ducking means, someone who called you out, and you didnt fight them. doesnt matter if he has a no name, bigger name, more money, less money. Ducking equals EGO.

Hey twat, I posted you the link about Cloud backing out of fighting Erdei, because you didnt believe it.
Erdei is fighting in America at this time, and because Cloud backed out, fought away in Italy.
I seem to remember the fight was going to be in America, even though Erdei is the bigger fighter with the bigger resume .

Guess you cant accept the truth

So overall, PAC can not duck anybody while Martinez can only duck PAC and mayweather can only duck Martinez and PAC.

    I would like to agree!

For me duck is when a fighter has no excuse for not fighting another fighter who most boxing people think that they should fight, weather they think that they will beat them or not and it makes sense in $ terms. eg..

Mosley did not 'duck' Kostya it could be said because he went for the bigger draw\boxer in Oscar in a higher weight.

Floyd might not of ducked a younger Mosley, an unbeaten Cotto or a dangerous Margareto, but he did duck 'them' , as he did not fight any of them, as who he fought was not as good and all fights made sense and dollers.

Bowe 'ducked' Lewis, he threw his belt in the bin , not to fight him.
